If all conferences especially the Power 5 don't play at the same time how can you crown a national champion. I don't fully understand how all this would work out. 3 of the Power 5 playing in Sept and the other 2 waiting until spring.

They aren’t playing in the spring. If you believe that spew of shite then you're a simp. If the other three conferences play then it would be the same thing just with three conferences.

I would expect their to be a champion this year...Unfortunately, I don’t think we will make it a month before the season is cancelled.

Only the SEC and ACC will end up playing

Winner of each conference plays for the tile. So in effect it will be a four team playoff with the winners of each division

That is what will happen

There could be a fall and a spring national champion if there were to be the two different season. There probably wouldn’t be a CFP playoff so it would just be the polls. It’s not ideal but Bama would claim it

The same way we usually do. From the SEC or ACC. The others are just filler anyway, especially Oklahoma.

They aren't playing in the spring.

Aside from weather in the Midwest in Jan/Feb, like Frost said play 24-25 games in a year would not be in the best interest of player safety.

The National Championship would be between the SEC champ and Clemson even if we’d never heard of Covid. The other conferences are irrelevant and have been for a while. You don’t see Ohio State, Oklahoma or Oregon bitching about being cancelled. They know. Relax.

You don’t play, you don’t get a shot at the title. That simple.

Exactly. And I actually think that the Big 12 stays. With three of the Power 5 conferences in it, it would be legit. Also, the PAC 12 and, to a lesser extent, the B1G, become even less relevant.

If your conference plays this fall, you get to send your champion to the playoff/natty

If there are only 2, that’s that. If 3, someone will either get a bye or two teams in.

There will never, NEVER, be a spring season. Anything cancelled now will not return until fall 2021. That is, if Fauci says so.

I know why you’re saying this but in these times anything is possible. You’d be foolish to discount it as we’re learning just how bizarre things can turn out.

Big-10 and Pac-12 forfeited.

ACC, Big 12 and SEC battle for Batty.

Simple at shite

I could see a scenario of no playoff or national championship game. Season ends after the conference titles. Honestly wouldn't mind it too much....would guarantee LSU to be the defending national champs for one more year.

Hell, I think the Sun Belt is still planning to play, unless I missed their announcement. Give them a token slot. 4 team playoff: LSU, Troy, Clem's Son, and the UGA/Bama winner. Game on.
