Hate to say he's right. We got away from gold for some reason. It looks more yellow than gold

I wouldn’t dignify the comment with a response.

The Bama fan is clearly an idiot.
Washington, like the Saints, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, etc. uses a METALLIC shade commonly called "Old Gold". Lighter shades of metallic gold are defined as "Vegas Gold".
LSU, like innumerable athletic programs across the country (USC, Pittsburgh Steelers, Oakland A's etc.), uses a shade properly defined as "athletic gold" but generally referred to as "gold". It is NOT yellow (and certainly not "canary yellow"); it has a shift to the red side of the spectrum, a slight orangey tint.
Yellow:
Athletic Gold:
You can tell him there is a whole heraldic thing about translating the metallic colors (silver/gold or argent/or) into non-metallic ones; but he would not be able to understand or comprehend...

"Different shades of colors exist, caveman."

Note to Bama: Tampons are crimson. Elephants are not.

There are different shades of a color.
Tennessee and Texas are both orange, but the colors are very different. Michigan and UCLA are both blue, but very different.
Maybe nuance is lost on Alabama fans?

There wasn't much gold fabric when we started playing football so Mardi Gras yellow was chosen for the uniforms. Other than old gold sprinkled in throughout the years we have kept the traditional colors.
