LSU Season Ticket Office was well aware of the future virus attack. That's why we had to commit 3-4 months earlier this season on payment for season tickets.

There isn't a P5 coach in the country that isn't scrambling right now to ensure that all Spring Football activities will continue on schedule. And summer workouts heading in to Fall.

OSU cancelled all recruiting for the next month and cancelled the spring game.

CFB should come second when it comes to safety. Can't have kids traveling on planes etc to visit then expose them to hundreds of others.

I wonder if team practices all spring are next on the docket

This MIGHT end in a matter of weeks. But entities are making multiple month decisions evedy moment. The residual affects will last even longer.

Public safety concern is a joke. We've all seen the stats of how many MORE are dying evrry day from conditions we just accept as the norm.

Its better to have them cancelled and be able to open things back up rather then have to cover your arse later

They absolutely know the virus isn’t heat resistant. They don’t have to see it in summer to know that. That doesn’t mean you can’t catch it I’m a warm environment just that it will be much, much harder to spread. It won’t live on open surfaces once average temperature gets right at 80 degrees or so. People can still spread it but you will almost assuredly see less cases once it heats up

To be fair, this website is one of the best at getting unbiased information, as well as talking sports.

I've seen a lot of news here first, before catching it on the 'official' sources.

You and anyone else repeating this are fricking ignorant. Stop repeating it. You're embarrassing yourself. Take the tinfoil hat conspiracy off. If you were remotely educated on disease or how viruses work, you would be concerned by this virus like the WHO/CDC.

And just because now it's not killing healthy immune system people doesn't mean it's going to be okay 3 years from now. If we have it your way and don't contain it what will happen to the strain 3 years now when it's running alongside the flu strains commonly? Would it mutate? Get stronger? Most probably...yes, or another strain comes off and mutates into something worse. That's how it works they grow stronger the more it infects over time years even. The more in comes into contact with the more potential you have at growing into something worse.

People vulnerable to this virus already have a decent shot at dying due to no vaccine. For that reason alone you should want to contain it as best as possible. Stop touting flu numbers which is also extremely ignorant. If you can stop another virus from being common out there and potentially mutate into something worse you stop it while you can. Do you think the flu would still be around if they could've contained it generations ago? You people who say the media is blowing this up are also the same people who use Fox News as a mouthpiece into everything you say. If you don't watch them then you sure do act like it.
