Kiffin was the perfect hire for Ole Miss.

He will make them competitive. It’s still Ole Miss.

Why are people saying "Kiffin is a good recruiter"?

I don't think there is supportable evidence of that --- he had 1 year at UT --- and it as his "splash" hire --- maybe that marginally improved recruiting --- he made no big "jump" at USC and he wasn't thought of as a recruiter in his stint at Alabama.

Ole Miss is "maybe" getting back to where they were when Hugh Freeze was successful.... but even that came under a cloud of suspicion of NCAA violations.... I believe it will be more of the same with Kiffin there.

As for other posters talking about Plumlee ---- well, other than the LSU game --- he really wasn't much and in fact, many from Ole Miss say that Luke putting Plumlee at QB when he could not effectively pass was a big part of why Luke was fired.

Unless the other QB transfers, Plumlee probably will not be the starter for Lane Kiffin -- because Lane is going to want to pass the ball and Plumlee is not a passer.

Y’all are looking at this wrong.

Yes this was a great hire for Ole Piss. And it will definitely have a minor effect on LSU, anybody who thinks not doesn’t understand who Kiffin really is.

But here is the positives. If he is successful, which means he probably is hurting LSU more than we would like he won’t be at Ole Piss after his 3 rd year. And if he isn’t successful he won’t be around more than 4 years.

Really that simple

Yup!

Or Plumlee will be the one to hit the "transfer portal" if he thinks he should be playing -- but until he improves greatly as a passer, he's not going to be OM starting QB under Kiffin.

Actually Kiffin and Ed are friends. I’m sure they would both stab each other in the backs over recruits though. This is a very competitive business.

If he takes a few more of the top guys in the region away from Alabama and Auburn it can only help to spread out the talent.

Another embarrassing incident on tap for 2024, that's how. He'll get a cheerleader pregnant or get caught doing something in violation of NCAA rules within a couple of years.

Joey Freshwater will strike in Oxford, book it.

The narrative is that he's grown up. Who knows.

Hopefully it will help us to ‘stop investment’ sooner when we recruit Mississippi. Currently, we invest a lot there and get very little in return. When/If we don’t get initial confidence, we should cut bait.

But he wont contend with LSU, Bama, AUB.
Kinda like an A&M now

he will beat TAMU next year... book it... hell he may even beat Auburn... they lose alot this year on Defense... he will hurt the alabama schools more in recruiting than LSU, but he will get the LSU leftovers and those alone will make him very good... it will hurt us, but not as bad as he will hurt TAMU and Auburn and prob Bama when saban leaves...

I still wonder why he took that job though... that is tough... where do you see going after that? its got to be used as a stepping stone to somewhere he'd like to go... and I dont see him taking that job if he thinks Saban is around another 4/5 years... If LSU takes care of Bama next year, that could be the nail in the coffin to Nick, becasuse hed have ammo against him as far as recuiting..

Just heard from an Ole Miss alum that Kiffin will offer Frank Wilson!

I posted this last week... He gave FW his first college coaching chance and should still be on good terms. Frank carries a lot more cred than Mickey in the New Orleans area so this could be a small problem BUT... with CEO turning his recruiting strategy nationwide if we lose a few in New Orleans I’m sure CEO will make it up outside of it

I love it that we're going nationwide, but its not without risks. You're going after guys that dont bleed P&G, and if you whiff on a few, you're in trouble. Meanwwhile, rivals are encroaching on your home turf.

He was fired at Oakland, where Al Davis called him "one of the biggest liars I know> He was also fired at S.Cal. And he had the NCAA"s all over his UT program, in less than one year. So his claim to fame is.......FAU???

Ed Orgeron was a joke at Ole Miss. Now he's the toast of college football. Not everybody learns from their mistakes, but some do. We'll see which one Kiffin turns out to be.

Watching him interview on Finbaum. Looks like Lane would like to strangle that goofy bastard.
