That's why I said ALMOST, in the case of people that make up their own spots.

Haven't heard much about how things went.

that in itself is a pretty good indication that things were not nearly as bad as expected....frankly, the stadium will be filled as usual, so there will be exactly the same number of folks on campus as there always has been...people like to tailgate, so I don't see that changing either...

all of the season passes are the same as before and all of the free parking in the hayfield and levee lots is unchanged...

basically, the only thing that I would see happening is that the existing tailgates in the affected areas get bigger and people carpool in to them....

may actually help the traffic situation, too...

I would say the tailgating was down 50% on campus.Whether or not that moved to the edges I dont know but I dont think it did. Opening game perfect weather.

Tailgating was down because people that just come out to games to tailgate were fewer than past years, and I love that. LSU got just what it wanted. Made game day better for the people that have tickets and I couldn't care less about the assholes that just come out to PARTY. F them.

I agree. The only problem I have is now parking on the edge of campus has become an issue. We live west of BR and park north of campus. It was filled very early.

I think the supposed lack of tailgaters was seen in the stadium by the empty seats. Less people in the stadium = less cars/parking problems/traffic/tailgaters.

LSU77, I really like your way of thinking. You hit the nail on the head. My family tailgates during the games and the thing that really pissed us off where the people who just came to party. They didn't have tickets, puked all over the place and always left a ton of trash. I say good riddance to the trash that fricks up the campus leaving their trash. I will be down for the Auburn game plus a few more important home games. I hope that the people who are there only to party and leave trash become history. Those people aren't fans they hit every tailgate around hoping to get free drinks.

I saw some tailgaters set up at the Korean church on Nicholson. They had to pay to park there, too, so I don't know what they thought they were accomplishing.

The AG center lot is free. It was packed full by noon. There are usually canopies set up all along Highland in front of the parking lot, full if people cooking, music, etc. I think I counted 4 of them on that entire stretch

That's because tailgates like ours who setup on the interior of campus only parked one car out there and the remainder of us parked in places like the ag center and law school lots.

This * infinity. Good riddance to the hangers on who don't care about the actual games. I don't know why people think they add anything to the gameday atmosphere.

I didn't see many empty seats at all. It was pretty full considering the caliber of opponent.

I got to Kirby Smith at noon and it was totally full...had to park on the grass next to Roosevelt Street...Filling up at noon for a rent-a-win really makes me wonder how early it will fill up for a good game...$40 a game is too much, however, LSU will continue to milk the cash cow....

Lots in interior were well under capacity probably at about 20-30%. Our tailgate was under attended.

Apparently the option to pay to park was shut down at 3 pm so that kept a lot of people out. I can see this changing in the future.

Spoken just like a kid under 25. Look I pay a LOT of money to get my parking pass, tickets, etc. and I don't want some 23 year old douche bag who couldn't care less about the game to ruin my day.

Ps, I drink all day AND have fun without being a douche !
