People who have seen Bama practice say he throws interceptions when under pressure. He has not face a defensive backfield with 3 certain 1st round draft choices and several young ones, 5 and 1 who may be as they mature.

Um, that’s not what people say at all. They said he carves up the d at practice.
Nice try though.

yep. this is precisely what i've been saying. there hasn't been one game when they had to extend drives against an elite defense. there's no way that isn't going to affect them.

limit number of drives
in conference games, lsu t.o.p. is 33mins whereas bama is 30mins. granted, it could be said that bama is used to scoring quick. but, if lsu eliminates the long passing strikes, extends drives that keeps the bama offense off the field, limits their chances and wears out the d.

these 2 teams are statistically very close to equal in conference games except for long passes/scores and sacks. the difference is lsu has played 4 very good defenses and is battle tested. also, the o line will probably be the best it's been all season

we have to do what Aranda doesn't like to do...blitz
aranda has been getting people in the backfield since the miami game. he's been bringing it from every angle. the players haven't always been good at wrapping up though.

Wait, you think the Dome 1/2 filled with Gumps was more hostile than Tiger Stadium?

No don’t blitz him he is good at presnap reads and finding the hot route, confuse him with the secondary.

If the Georgia CB plays his position then Tua doesn't win a NC. That was more horrible defense on Georgia's part than good offense on Bama's part. Kinda like Arky not making an easy catch in the WS to seal the deal

Then we would be talking about Fromme as a NC QB. He certainly got rattled in Death Valley.

Fromme was rattled and he had 20-25% of Tiger Stadium wearing red and black.

How was being inserted into the NC game vs a good team not a lot of pressure?

Win the line of scrimmage. Do that and you neutralize any elite skill position player including a QB. I really don't think Saban is going to turn him loose slinging it all over the place, especially not early. He's going to run in the first half. With White on the bench, he's going to run first and make us stop the run.

ON the flip side of that, Tua is the most blitzed QB in the SEC at 35% of his dropbacks.

I think your best shot is to make him dink and dunk and hope he tries to force something downfield.

You obviously know nothing about human psychology.

That being said, I don’t think Tua is the type to get rattled in any environment. Not in the game of football anyway.

Tua hasn’t played against a secondary like LSU’s yet.

That is the key. Cover, and cover more. Don't lose your man. No one should be wide open or running free in our secondary for easy throws. Make every throw contested. Give him small windows for success, and maybe he'll help us out by forcing a few throws. Get some timely pressure on him from unexpected sides and let's see how well he can escape. IF his knee makes him susceptible to a certain pass rush, exploit it. All part of FB.

Looking forward to seeing what D.A. and the Tigers have in store for Bama. Expect to see a new wrinkle, like D Thomas in 2016 (he gave Hurts fits at the LOS). J. Stevens? Someone else?

Everyone is wondering how do you stop Tua. What is being lost is the fact that with White out Bama will be able to run the ball right at them and LSU will be hard pressed to stop it. Expect that to be Bama’s game plan in the first half.

Pound the ball up the middle for 5-6 yards a pop. Then safeties up, play action touchdown. Rinse and repeat for the first 30 minutes of play.

Definition of pressure in the context in which we're using it.

•the feeling of stressful urgency caused by the necessity of doing or achieving something, especially with limited time.

Maybe you're using some alternate definition of pressure of which I'm unaware.

Maybe he felt pressure there, maybe he didn't, only he knows. But stop acting like it would be unreasonable for someone to feel pressure in that spot. Some thrive because of pressure, others wilt.
