How the rule is written is a BIG REASON why the foul ball was not challenged

NCAA CWS states:
1. Fair or foul. Ball must first touch ground or a fielder beyond initial position of first or third baseman.

The way this is written, it makes it seem that that particular play was not reviewable. Even the announcers said that the way it is written, that play was not reviewable. They later learned that the word "ground" also meant "wall". Are you frickin' kidding me? The coaches for Oregon State probably even thought the play wasn't reviewable. Oh yeah, they don't have instant replay in Oregon States conference. Crazy. The NCAA needs to change the wording of rule #1 for the CWS.

The coach from Oregon State said he knew it was available and chose not to review it based on what the umpire told him. Give it a rest, let it go it's fricking over.

If you think it's fair, you come out and argue it regardless. Oregon State didn't think it was fair, plain and simple.

Yup, he knew he could and didn't.

Sucks for them, but he should have challeneged it.

Fair or foul should be reviewable 100% of the time

It's not like you get penalized for asking for a review and aren't entitled to one

Wrong. The coach asked his third base coach, not the umpire. What is the umpire gonna say anyway? He already called it foul.

He also said during the game that "it's on him" for not reviewing. Then the next day he went out to argue a different call and instead cried foul ball like a bitch.

Sounds like someone was mad at themselves for this as well as not having success with all of his bush league attempts such as the draw a balk and pump fake starting pitcher.

NCAA rule books are extremely hard to understand. For my first 9 years of high school football officiating, we worked under NCAA rules. The next year we moved to National Federation Rules. The rule book was more cut and dry with fewer exceptions. It was much easier to navigate. As the players are more advanced, the rules become more complicated as written.

Correction. What his third base coach told him

Their coaches fricked up, bottom line.

Enjoy it, this is how Alabama football has felt for the last 5 years every time they played us

Way too much is big made of this. It is a game that is judged by humans. Things happen and judgements are made in an instant. People who argue these things are grasping at some way to ease the pain of losing. It's part of the game and happens both ways to every team. Enough already. Take the pain!

You're wrong.

The ONLY reason it wasn't challenged is because Casey didn't challenge it. Third base coach said it was foul so they left it alone.

Has nothing to do with how the rule is written.

Let. It. Go.

Oregon State had another seven innings, including that same at-bat, and another game to overcome it and didn't do it. LSU beat Oregon State yesterday with its No. 4 SP while Oregon State let an MLB prospect rot in the bullpen until the Beavers were down 5-0 in the fourth inning.

And even with replay, there's no guarantee umps would have made the right call after looking at it. Umps/refs still make the wrong call PLENTY after replay reviews. Replay is overrated.

Ummm.... I'm pretty sure all of them aren't child molesters. Prolly most are not. In fact, I think I remember reading that it was only one... one guy...and that guy didn't come to the CWS.

Just sayin...trash talk should be credible and accurate, if nothing else.
