That is why I am hoping LSU can upload on Clemson like they did on OU to take the refs out of the game...
Ohio State failed to put them away early when they had the chance and allowed Clemson to get back in it then the blown calls by the refs came into play...

I agree. IMO that 16-0 lead OSU had would be at least a 27-0 lead for LSU. Plus OSU took the foot off the pedal. LSU will not do that.Again the key is the LSU offensive line.

It mattered not.
LSU likely would have hung 50 without all of that holding. It didn't matter because Georgia's offense couldn't keep up, but Clemson is a different animal.
I still like LSU's chances either way, but it will definitely be a factor

I have not seen a defensive back this year who initiates as much contact as Fulton, so I'll take refs that let them play.
Also, our receivers excel against every technique a corner can use. If they start giving us problems in bump and run we'll just bunch the receivers and let them try to untangle them as they spread into their routes.

I've seen several comments on how LSU's OL should be called as ineligible downfield on our RPO's. If they call that strictly that could really impact us. who knows...

The only thing that is certain is that if the game is remotely close, a large portion of the fanbase that loses will blame it on the refs.
In a close game, the message board for the team that loses will have half a dozen threads on the first page about getting screwed by the refs.
In a blowout loss, there will still be one or two threads blaming the refs.
And other than the fans for the team that lost, no one cares about missed or bad calls by the refs. Whether the complaining is justified or not, to everyone but the fans for the team that lost it just comes off as whining.

This isn't about refs making incorrect calls. It's about how much contact the refs allow the DB's to make. There's no right or wrong policy but it does affect the game

So long as its called both ways (meaning not only for both teams , but for db's and wr's), I am fine. Our corners play a lot of bump and run and we leave them in single coverage a lot. If they let both sides get "handsy", it could hurt their offense as well.
If they let the receivers get handsy too, that might help us. Chase and Moss are both very physical and hard to hand check. Anyone who watched the saints game knows the advantage a handsy receiver can get.
Yes it can have an impact on the game, but that impact can cut both ways if they are consistent.
