I'm certainly not putting my heart into it anymore. Against better judgement knowing we had 0 shot with Ensminger and O running things, yet during game week last season I got sky high thinking we had a shot. I'm stopping myself from now on. Even with Joe Brady, O's mentality on offense is still going to be at least somewhat conservative. You cannot hang with Alabam that way. I've had it with this bullsh*t getting my hopes up. LSU can geaux 11 & 1 or 10 & 2. LSU canNOT geaux 12 & 0. Hell will get a cool front first.

A) take chances
B) execute when those chances pay off

We've played not to get blown out since O took over...thats never going to work.

Eta-from a game plan perspective, protect the QB without having to max protect and sling it around. Put the running game in your back pocket.

Part of that was the 2007 halftime ceremony - I was at the front of the student section trying to get a “We want Les” chant going

Man if UGA can play Bama as close as they have and LSU can beat UGA by 3 TDs then the talent gap between Bama and LSU is not that large.

LSU's biggest problem vs. Bama is between LSU's ears.

Yes, it will again be an uphill climb. But if LSU comes in healthy, their pass rush should be much improved and I look for the run defense to be really good. The big challenge of course, will be scoring points against them. But maybe, just maybe, with a more modern offense loaded with receiving talent, John Emery running the ball and a more experienced Joe Burrow...

Yeah hit Tua hard! Like a many a QB he is a different specimen when harassed and he got exposed vs. UGA and Clemson. Also need to make sure they don't hit Jeaux Jeaux hard and early. It will come down to how well our Tackles can hold up to the edge rush.

You've got to go into the game knowing you need to get to 30 points to win...only way to do that is play fast and crazy

Orgeron and Ensminger will never beat Bama. Stop getting your hopes up. If they beat Mullen and Fisher then they should have a shot at the playoffs...assuming the committee will give us the Bama treatment in not having to win our conference to play for the national championship.

We need to throw the ball more. Doesn’t matter if we have to put it in the air 50+ times. Just an opinion and I’ve provided some data so you can make your own. Here’s a comparison of what the teams who have beat Bama the last 7 times compared to our last 7 games against Bama have averaged and the differences in approach and success.

Bamas last 7 losses/ opponents averages
Run/ Pass ratio
Passing 49.4%
Rushing 50.6%

Passing
37.4 pass attempts per game
309.1 yards passing per game
8.3 yards per pass attempt
2.6 pass TDs per game

Rushing
38.3 attempts per game
131.1 yards per game
3.4 yards per carry
1.6 TDs per game

LSUs last 7 games vs Alabama
Run/ Pass ratio
Passing 43.1%
Rushing 56.9%

Passing
27.7 pass attempts per game
167.4 passing yards per game
6.0 yards per pass attempt
0.57 pass TDs per game

Rushing
36.6 attempts per game
87.9 yards per game
2.4 yards per carry
0.57 TDs per game

Seems to me like we’ve given the style of running to set up the pass a fair chance and our rush attempts are just about equal to the teams who’ve actually beat Bama. But we’re about 10 pass attempts per game behind the successful teams and that number is drastically inflated by how far behind we’ve been in most of these games. Its time to quit playing scared and start attacking them down the field. We’ve got one of the most cerebral college QBs I’ve seen in the SEC in recent years, he’s wise beyond his age in terms of football smarts. We’ve got as talented a WR group as anybody in the country and we now have Brady who should be able to find ways to put this group in great situations. In 2017 we saw Canada design a game plan that had opportunities to make big plays in the passing game against them and our QB just had a bad game so it’s there we just have to go for it.

Bingo, IMO, just doesn’t seem the same type of qb after a few hits.

Learn a couple lessons from Clemson and beat them by four touchdowns.
