What’s the end goal? Are you trying to reform college football? Seems like a weird cause to be attached to.

The obsession some LSU fans have with putting down ULL is so strange

My dad graduated from USL..And he hated LSU, especially Les Miles...But now that Coach O is there he's warmed up to the tigers...even had on an LSU visor for the natty. I think O being from LA is doing that to most fanbases around the state

They need to act like La Tech, Nicholls, McNesse, Tulane and the other schools in Louisiana. They all pull for LSU and understand their place. ULL has a womb deep down that doesn't let them act the same.

Why do they “need” to do anything? That’s ridiculous. Which school did you graduate from?

I live in Lafayette, and everyone that I know that are Cajun fans are also Tiger fans, too

Holy shite. Didn't realize tickets were so cheap.

The only problem I have with them is forcing everyone to call them the University of Louisiana. Think about universities that bear their state's name, then think about the school in Lafayette. University of Texas, University of Alabama, University of Florida, University of Georgia.
They are an embarrassment academically and athletically.

This state is big enough for more than one successful div 1program

Now that I think of it I know of two people that are UL fans and are not LSU fans, but I don't hang out with them ever. There are a ton of LSU fans here, moreso than UL fans (if you look at attendance

Actually, that depends on your idea of successful. If losing money every year to be able to say you are division 1 and made the redneck bowl is successful then I would rather go back to the days of ULM in FCS winning national championships. I can’t remember if ULL was successful in FCS but I know McNeese has been and I loved seeing that. Tech has had a lot of recognition in the FBS, possibility because I believe they were the first to move up. I believe they lose money also though. Basically, you can look at recruiting and see the difference between schools. LSU is top 5. Any other schools in Louisiana ever make the top 25 or top 50?

They are the caliber of a directional school and should not bear the name of the state of Louisiana, Imo.

Imo.
ETA: have you attend class at LSU? Have to attended class at UL? If no to either of those how do you have an opinion on the matter?

The University of Louisiana does not care. They had a great football season. The Tigers won the National Championship.
Crawfish will be here soon. No one cares. It's all good.

Yes

If I had attended "UL", the average test score and IQ of UL students would have gone up.
You don't have a point, though. My opinion that UL doesn't compare well to other schools in the area that bear their state's name is fact-based and had nothing to do with if or where I went to school. You haven't (because you can't) refute that. The admission requirements, academics and athletics are more in line with the directional name they have been running from for 2 decades. Whether I went to LSU or "UL" doesn't change what "UL" is (and isn't).

Why does their name bother you so much? There are plenty of directional schools in the country. Are they just as unworthy of their home states name in your opinion?
