Are those hires worse than giving jimbo $80mil guaranteed?

That is what boosters at A&M told him to do and they finished top 5 last year and have recruited at a top 10/5 level.

Money is relative. They have endless amounts of it.

Probably not nervous but maybe disappointed. He would have hired Nolan Cain.

About as nervous as a wooden rocking chair in a room full of fatties.

$80 mill guaranteed is nothing to Aggies.

They would pay $100 mill for 1 national championship.

When Saban does retire - Kirby and Jimbo are in good spots to finally get their respective schools championships. Neither are going anywhere

Alleva was lazy and cheap, low energy. Just look at Trent Johnson and Johnny Jones

Joe had some major flaws, but there is a lot of rewritten history when it comes to his hires. Trent Johnson wasn't a lazy hire. The national perception was that it was a strong hire. We now know that Trent's downfall was his unwillingness to get in the gutter to recruit, but he had a good reputation at Stanford.

Joe also had Patrick Murphy from Alabama hired, until Murphy pulled a Rich Rod. He then hired Torina from FIU, who was thought to be a coach on the rise.

He did want Jimbo, but wasn't supported by the political forces in LA. The Johnny Jones hire was his worst hire, when he gave in to "the crowd".

SW comes from the LA political world, and as a result is significantly better at dealing with all of the influences that have historically gotten in the way at LSU.

Not as nervous as a coach leaving a good situation to come to LSU and work for that clown. Its doubtful Alleva could get this done in the first place. Talking about taking a risk for the new coach.

If Joe Bozo did pull it off, whoever took the gig wouldnt have any respect for him from the beginning and most likely was on a money grab.

Has any other school been dumb enough to hire Bozo?
