So simple answer is yes, gotcha.

Who knows ???....maybe a lot if Daniels is hurt or ineffective

There will come a time in a big game where we will need him to come in and produce points.
Honestly I wish they went to him last year vs Arky yo just push the ball down the field on a cold day. I do understand sticking with your guy though.

yes I wanted to insert Nuss against Auburn and Arkansas, who absolutely shut down JD5.
Yet we still won those games.

maybe we have a fighting chance against UGA if Kelly isn’t so hard-headed as to play a one-legged QB for an entire half.
How dare Kelly do what he thinks is in the best interest of his team. The nerve!

a gunslinger on the bench.
This makes me laugh. Just because he's "a gunslinger," I've already agreed with you that he has a better arm but simply because he's "a gunslinger" he should be starting (in your opinion). Forget about him forcing throws and being prone to throwing interceptions. Interesting you dodged that little nugget.
Again, there's room for both QBs to improve and I think they both will and I'm pulling for both of them to be successful. It's a good thing to have. I've said that twice now. Another thing you conveniently ignored as well as Daniels having the second best season for a QB in LSU history like another poster pointed out earlier in this thread.
Why does it have to be one way or the other for you? I don't understand. They're both on the same team and they support each other. Something you're seemingly incapable of doing. You've been going on with this for over a year like you think you know more than Kelly does who sees his team day after day.
Unreal.

Les, is that you?
We beat Auburn because Koy Moore gave the ball to LSU players not once but twice.
And escaped Arkansas because Perkins harassed their 2nd and 3rd string QBs.
The offense was fine against Tennessee in 2010 because we did technically win, right?

Well he's been saying this same drivel for over a year now so.....

I get it now. So you want to pass for 400 yards in each game. Winning the game is irrelevant because we have "a gunslinger" sitting on the bench.
And yet again, you dismiss that we won the games, you just didn't like how we won and ignored how Nuss has been prone to throw interceptions and the fact that Daniels had the second best season as a QB in LSU history. I've mentioned it twice now.
And no, I'm not Les.
Feel like debating further or are you going to make juvenile comments because you aren't getting what you want?

The point I’m trying to make is that we won those games by the skins of our teeth, with our defense.
That’s not how you win championships in this era of football - 3rd and 17 comes to mind. You need to press the issue with your offense and play to win instead of not to lose.
I don’t care about stats for their own sake, I care about putting the game out of reach so your opponent doesn’t have the ball with a chance to win late in the 4th.

You were happy with the W yes? You're acting like it happened in every game. It happened in two out of twelve games.

Nonsense. You care about having who you think start but you've now avoided those points I've asked you about three times now.
Why do you refuse to give Daniels any credit? I'm honestly asking. You simply will not do it.

Nussmeier deserves some meaningful snaps for being a great teammate and for not transferring.
bullshite! Does Perkins backup deserve meaningful snaps? Are you going to take out Perkins when games are on the line? Hell no! And you know who is even more important than Perkins? Daniels!
The number of meaningful snaps the backup QB is going to get, barring injury, is exactly zero. And that’s also the number he “deserves”. Bunch of Gen LGBQ+ in here.

Yeah, don’t understand why people are hammering for our backup QB to get all of these snaps. When it’s Nuss time next year, I want him getting every rep unless we are up 50 on some scrub team.

that Daniels had the second best season as a QB in LSU history. I
not in passing yards. doubtful he passed mett or rohan or jamarcus in passing yards. sure as shite not burrow. maybe total yards because of all that running.
again i think everyones main concerns is what we saw with our NON lying eyes last year
low YPA
not a good intermediate completion rate
holding ball too long taking way too many sacks even after line gelled.
not throwing receivers open to spots
JJ had this problem also not wanting to throw unless guys were wide arse open. you have to be accurate and lead them in man coverage or throw it in the hole against zone.
lets see if JD has gotten better.

I think those are all legitimate concerns, but I do think we will see a significant improvement this season for obvious reasons.
Comfort with his players in season 2 with almost the entire offense returning.
OL now experienced and gone from weakness to strength.
Addition of playmakers like Anderson and Pimpton. Markway also adds a TE that can block and relieve pressure.
2nd season in Denbrock's offense.
He also knows that if he wants to make it in the NFL and be considered a day 1 or 2 pick he has to show he is a top passer not runner.

yeah that has to account for something. he should be better. question is how much.

I will be downvoted but if Daniels struggles a lot in a few games, I would love to see Nuss. His game is quite different than Daniels' and would be hard for defenses to prepare for both QB styles. I played college basketball and everyone has "off-games" where they struggle. And sometimes just to sit and watch for a series or two may be a good idea to reset.
I actually agree with this. If Daniels has a game where he gets overwhelmed and struggles like he did vs Auburn, or is not 100% like he was playing sick vs Arkansas, there’s nothing wrong with giving Nuss a look for a spark.
The thing about Daniels is, he always bounced back after struggling. He was great vs Bama and was actually pretty good in the first half vs Georgia without being able to run effectively on the back of a tough game vs A&M. I think Kelly could do this without creating a ton of controversy unless is happens multiple times.
I do think Nuss is going to have the chance to close several 4th quarters this season, no matter what.

Probably very little barring an untimely *** to the starter.
Nussmeier seems to be destined to becoming the '20s counterpart to Ryan Perriloux-- he comes in the game with 3 minutes left when the Tigers have a 5 or 6 TD lead
