But again, not to put all the blame on OBJ, because we did come back, and then I felt a lot of the blame is on Chief for going into a prevent D.

Nah, at this point he bears most of the responsibility to what happened afterwards. The D had established what they were at that point. Beckham saw them getting gashed. He also saw UGA's D getting gashed. All he had to do in that spot was one of those basket fair catch and would've loved our chances to score. Poor game awareness and judgement by Beckham.

I love the kid. He will rebound from this.

I feel bad for him, no doubt he took his eyes off the ball trying to make a play. Sometimes I wish he wouldn't return the kickoff and just take it from the 25 but that isn't what playmakers do. I did not like the one-handed catch though. Although there was a low possibility of making a costly mistake doing so, there was no reward other than hype.

It totally changed the game. LSU had momentum going and Georgia was on their heels. From that point forward, Georgia had the game under control.

After LSU made the last score, an onside kick would have been a brilliant way to steal a possession and run the clock out.

With a defense as bad as this one, stealing a possession or two in a big game would be huge.

So, how many times did our defense force Georgia to punt the entire game?
as previously mentioned, both teams capitalized on turnovers...
That kid played far better than any of his defensive teammates...

All my friends keep bitching about how the defense lost that game. Bulls@#!. We knew going in hat it was going to be a tit for tat game. All the stats are nearly identical, except for rushing, but we ended with more total, so, it's Germans. Look at the third down conversion LSU was 10 of 15. That's good! Georgia was only 4 of ll. That sucks! So, there was time where I defense stood up, the problem is when Georgia usually scored it was on blown coverage with guys not choosing the right assignment. So it made our defense look awful. The one thing that stands out in this game is turning the ball over in the red zone. It's what lost the game. Period. However, for that one mistake he made, he's made several excellent plays, so learn & move on.

My friend and I had just finished saying that I would tell Bekham to fair catch no matter what and send an all out rush to block. Tgere was a blocked punt for touchdown last week.

Then we look up and he drops it. As was sayd we were gonna go up 2 possesions there. Totally turned the tide.

Certainly did not help our cause. Shifted momentum.
We could have gotten the advantage of playing up instead of behind the rest of the game.
HUGE mistake but the defense was not even close to being in that game. Gapping holes and a secondary often 10 + yards away from their receivers.

It's entertaining to read the comments here and see how people interpret a game. I seem to see people falling into three groups as this goes. Some people focus on 1-2 seconds and like to assign blame for a game on that time because it is convenient and it gives them something to focus on. Some like to focus on 2:27 of the game and blame that for the ultimate failure to win the game. And the last group focus on 60 minutes and evaluate all of the factors before assigning "blame" for LSU's defeat. The last ones are the ones that are able to make the most sensible and intelligent arguments because they take everything into account with their comments. I am also very glad that the LSU staff and players are good enough to fall into the last category.

Huge.
fricking huge. That was a back breaker type of turnaround. Even though we would eventually get the lead back, that cost us huge momentum when we needed it. If nothing else, we take more time off and give the D a rest.

It was the turning point in the game and completely flipped the momentum. I fully believe that if OBJ calls fair catch there and doesn't muff the punt, LSU wins.

In any 3 point game - especially a high scoring one - there are many moments that could have changed the outcome. That said, I think 3's fumble was the biggest.

As it here's have said, the defense had FINALLY stopped them once. It hurt bad.

Not to much. It happens to all teams. Just bad timing for our team.

Can't argue with you, as that was a tepperish performance. It just felt like we were about to take control sans fumbled punt

Definitely a changer....LSU crowd was getting rowdy in stadium at this point and could be heard throughout Sanford Stadium. It reversed the momentum obviously, but agree, one of many.
