1/9 was the worst thing that's ever happened to me. I'm thankful for that every day because it means I've lead a charmed life.

Anyway, I prefer when we get blown out versus close heartbreakers. If it's an asskicking, I can start laughing about it and just drink. If it's a nailbiter, I barely touch any beer and just pace around the room yelling.

Watching LSU, that is, watching the actual game itself, is not fun for me. It's like sending your kid off to school when he's young, except you get a front row seat for every time he aces a test/every time he's teased or bullied. The highs are so high - one of the most satisfying experiences imaginable, but oh my god the anxiety and stress.

But the losses make the wins so much sweeter. The next time we beat Alabama, I'm probably going to smile to myself about it at least once a day for 365 days.

I probably invest a little too much. But that won't change.

Too much unfortunately

Mixing alcohol with terrible QB play (sans Mett '13) has been an awful idea

I think I still invest to much emotion. I remember when we played Georgia two years ago in that shootout, I was in Biloxi for the weekend with my girlfriend. The weekend was going great and then after that loss the whole thing went downhill. She wasn't very happy with my attitude, but she's a UL alum so she doesn't get it.

I unfortunately invest so much I should be on the field playing.

I'm grateful when LSU loses because it makes the weekend seem longer.

The older I've gotten, it take less and less time for me to get over a loss. When you have other, more important, things in life that actually matter, it kind of starts to put things in perspective. Just my two cents

This is absolutely correct. I love the Tigers, have since I could walk. Used to cry as a kid when we lost. But I'm 50 now with a job, wife, kids, and a mortgage.

Still love football and watching the Tigers. Really want us to win, but it's only entertainment. Frustrating as hell sometimes, but I just try to enjoy it.

As I've aged (55) it's become more of an entertainment venue for me. I used to die a slow death after every loss. It's really not healthy to invest that much emotion in something u can't control and in reality doesn't change your status in life in anyway regardless of outcome. That being said I'm ready to be highly entertained......

This year, not as much as previous years. July and August were so slow, but this year I haven't watched it as closely.

I'm 55 and my three cents still can't get over losses easily. I must not have other, more important things in my life. The dog runs after an LSU loss. I bleed purple and gold. Named after Billy Cannon. Sorry, just the way it is. I hope I never grow out of it - don't believe I will, anyway.
Here's something else that makes me emotional LINK

Not much at all...especially since having 2 young kids now...one of which is the reason I'm awake and now can't go back to sleep/on here at in the middle of the night.

10 years ago..... WAY too much

After The Misery of 1/9 I was not right for about three weeks.
There are many LSU Fans and Alums that still haven't gotten over that game, nor have they forgiven LM.

Program has been on an overall and SEC downhill slide since 21-0.

The "Decline" has to stop and reverse itself this season or there will be big trouble ahead.............

I don't know how you guys get over losses so easily. This reminds me of the interview with the tennis champion Björn Borg. After he retired he was asked which of all his tournament championships he remembered best. He replied that he didn't remember any of the victories, but has never forgotten any of the defeats.

That's me. I'm still pissed about the '69 Ole Miss game.

This year- completely sick of disciphering some foreign language to try and hold on to some morsel of a lie about what we will or will not see. I hate it but I'm done with miles. I'll show up Saturday and cheer like hell every week but I have waaay too much to do other than try to figure out his foolishness

This pretty much sums up the beliefs of just about all our friends and LSU Fans/Alums that we meet and talk to during the year.

Most everybody is fed up and about ready for change if things don't significantly reverse and improve this season.

The only real strong LM support is from the vocal minority on message boards. They're virtually non-existent in real life out in the adult world.............
