Lee was no running threat at all, maybe slightly more than Mettenberger. J.Jefferson would have done better but even he was a tuck and run QB much more than ever working progressions. Burrow is elite in this offense.

This offense requires a quarterback to process a lot of information quickly and act accordingly. Also pass accuracy is crucial because a lot of the throws are back shoulder type throws and “throwing the receiver open”.

Not every quarterback would be successful in it. And I have my doubts either of them would have been.

So was Russell Shepard. Neither played QB at LSU.

JJ’s mental processor ran at the speed of a Tandy 2000. Never let the ball go unless the receiver was wide open, and progressions? Hahahahahaha. He was at his best when he could just react and not have to think. JL, while a compete statue, would have feasted in this system. No need to be mobile, Bam, the ball is out.

So what. This is essentially what if thread.

How much better would Russell Shepard have been under Joe Brady? If he played QB.

I always thought with Harris it was more Miles and Cam trying to get him to do things and run an offense that didn’t play to his strengths. I don’t think he would’ve been a world beater on this offense but he would’ve had a better career

He went to a very QB friendly offense at UNC and was even worse.

He clearly panicked or lost his focus during games. You can’t fix that.

Andrew Hatch and Anthony Jennings would have been incredible.

Yeah, Harris is an interesting one. Not sure if he could have succeeded even in this system. But I do know he would have had a better chance to succeed with this system.

Jordan Jefferson was not a capable passing QB. He played the wrong position at LSU. No coordinator would've mattered.

Brandon Harris could've benefited from this system, but probably not to the level LSU fans would've hoped.

They would have been better. I don't know why you're being downvoted.

We have dumb fans who think all of the qb we have recruited sucked. There were videos of CM Cameron telling Harris as a Freshman to "throw it as hard as you can" on a 5 yard pass.

Les and company were terrible at developing quarterbacks. I am not saying those dudes would have been as good as Burrow but they would have been much better under Brady.

I wholeheartedly agree. All these folks saying "they didn't go through progressions"........."they weren't accurate", are delusional. That's why you GROOM quarterbacks in a system before just throwing them in it. It's very rare someone can come straight in as a freshman and be ready to lead a team at QB. Jordan, and Harris especially, would've been MUCH BETTER quarterbacks if they'd been recruited by this staff and developed by this staff..............................similar to how we see Brennan being developed. Anyone notice how much better HE looks now that he's been here backing up Burrow? He'll be ready to take the reins by next season. Miles recruited Harris out of a system similar to what we're running now, and tried to make him a under center, drop back passer. That was never going to work with him or Anthony Jennings for that matter.

I think Harris would have been serviceable. JJ should have bulked up and played tight end.

Every QB would look better in this system

I don't think Either would be all world. Burrow is still a very smart QB who reads defenses well, but system is countless other teams have passed much better than us with equal or lesser QBs.

It is kinda crazy how people used to knock a QB as a system QB.

Not much. You have to be accurate, intelligent and possess quick thinking ability. That rules them both out.
