Exactly, A complete contradiction. You cant say a coach is garbage and incompetent and then in the next sentence say...but I expect them to improve.

You absolutely can say that. Since he was given this job, he is expected to perform. After last season, many were rightfully skeptical that he could get it done, but the expectation doesn't go away. That's how you ruin a program.

Expectations are fluid, & in the end, based on my knowledge of the situation. If you’re expecting something, it’s on your terms.

If you trash coach O all offseason don’t come talking about high expectations. Especially in the mockingly way Goldrush has foolishly done the last few months,

I'm enjoying the ride the coach and team are giving us.
3-0 is hard to complain about---I think these kids can take us to the promised land.

I'm enjoying it as well. We are discussing a point if view from before the season started, not now. Fantastic job thus far this season.

This is patently false and I dont believe you really believe this.

People expected Miles to field a team every year that lived up to their potential....what ever that might be.

His teams routinely underachieved against inferior competition.

We are LSU, I expect lots of wins regardless of who the coach is. Sorry your brain can't process that.

No it isn't. It was the expectation.

His record didn't say that, but whatever.

I would say his last few years did, but the expectations were definitely there. Same as they are now.

I don't believe I've ever "trashed" him, just given assessments based on his performance, which has been underwhelming for most of his career.

And I can and will continue to have the same level of expectations for anyone occupying the HC position at LSU.

He hasn't won me over yet. At first I thought it was a pretty good hire and continue to think so and thought making Ensminger the OC was can't miss move and a huge upgrade over Canada and Cameron. But I'll wait to see how the season's play out. I am becoming more optimistic however about the ceiling of coach orgeron. He seems a lot better at the process and organizational part of the job than I thought he would be.

Well some of you think posting his career record is "trashing him."

You guys have a problem with the facts, not me.

but it's silly to criticize other posters for not being convinced yet, especially after only 3 games.

These guys will NEVER give O any credit, regardless of success.

That’s more of the issue than not being convinced. These guys have been posting the same end of the world narrative since O was hired.

Now that we’re seeing some success, this isn’t O’s program anymore.

Dont get your feelings hurt. Just taking a little jab. Besides Gold doesn't need your help.

But.....you're both wrong. It doesn't compute to claim that a coach is incompetent but you still expect him to improve and win 10 games. Incompetent coaches don't win 10 games.

By the way....I still want another HC.

Those same posters have been criticizing others almost nonstop for months simply for being supportive of the coaches and team.

I disagree. I've never seen those posters criticize the team. Most of them believed we had the talent to at least win 10 games. I'm of the same opinion.

Most of the doubt was toward Orgeron and Ensminger. People can support and still doubt. I don't agree with everything they post, but many of those labeled as "haters" make valid arguments based on tangible data.

Orgeron is doing great so far this season, but any rational person knows he would never have been a candidate for this job if he was a DL coach from North Dakota.

The title of the thread implies that cynical twits like yourself would ever be “won over “. Tigers could go 12-0 and you would still find issues to bitch about rather than enjoying the experience.

Everyone posting in this thread has given 0 credit for the start of this season.

Well, since it's actually not an issue, will y'all let it go now?
