How many of you believed the Jimbo hype?

I've been a Miles supporter but thought he was done and I was OK with a change. The thought of a Fisher/Muschamp was pretty exciting and I believed it was happening.
How many of you will admit that you bought into the late night rumor mill?
No matter what, however, I'll support the Tigers and have some fun. Being angry takes too much energy.

It is ridiculously obvious that the only reason Miles is staying is because LSU didn't want to pay Jimbo the money Sexton was asking.

I wanted to believe so bad. But everytime I put my phone down I came back to my senses.

I took it. I was a sucker. I was dang excited too.

I did not buy LSU obtaining permission to speak with Jimbo, negotiating terms, dealing with counter negotiations from FSU, and reaching a deal all WITHOUT any media attention.
No way that slides by so many people.
I believed they were getting rid of Miles without knowing if they could obtain Jimbo.

Another inside source?

Yep. No hype. Jimbo could have been had, but not at a price FKA was willing to pay.

Not me posted a few threads trying to tell people to wake up and put the crack pipe down and got flamed for it.
Can't help those individuals they like to have people think for them!

Correct. No doubt in my mind Miles believed he was probably coaching his last game.

Thanks for posting something sane on this board.
I never bought it. Jimbo is at a destination job, and he has lots of reasons to stay at FSU, including his kid's health.
Money is okay, but it doesn't always pry coaches from destination jobs. Texas learned that the hard way. Arky will pretend that it got its man, but they settled for fat boy only after learning that nobody gave a shite about their money or their location.
Coaches have a lot of reasons and motivations to be where they are and leave where they don't want to be. LSU is still sad about Saban leaving, and it ought to address the reasons behind that first before trying to go after its very own Joe Pa.

I believe Jimbo was listening...and turned us down.

Not I. I know better to believe what I read on the internet

Right. Why else would he wait until this weekend to sit with the AD and state his intentions to stay in Tallhassee?

I'll admit I bought it. I didn't stay up late for it, but I checked it when I woke up. Nothing we can do now. LSU til I die, Miles or no Miles. Hopefully some meaningful changes are made.

I think I wanted to believe it more than reason could overcome.

Exactly, he was listening for a week or more, when that statement went out Sat. morning, it was over. if wanted the job, he literally didn't have to say anything over the weekend. He could have stalled for another few days.

Believed the hype as in we made a play for him? Yea, that seems to be the obvious guess as to what was going on behind the scenes.
But whether we'd get him, i had no clue.

Whether you bought or not; criticized it or not-- LSU was a national topic of discussion. Pretty impressive for a team that was 7-3 and completely out the playoff picture. May end up being the greatest unintentional marketing campaign.
And, it may have provided the needed shake up to inject some offensive creativity in 2016-- keep in mind that I am the eternal optimist. We will know soon enough.
