Difference is saban makes all the right hires.

O doesn't.

Lol... have you seen Bama’s results year to year? Who gives a frick if there’s turnover if you’re a juggernaut every year.

Good question, because another Heisman trophy winner isn't walking through that door anytime soon.

Recruiting is fricking unreal. We'll see how Peetz and Jones work out. Seems like they can only be upgrades. I'm really hoping that it works out.

I think the daronte jones hire was a really good hire. He is calm and smart.

no he doesn’t, and O (and no other modern coach) will ever be Saban. Sorry if that bothers you. Quit measuring our program by another coach’s success. You’re chasing something unrealistic

Orgeron has basically made two good hires in 4 years

Orgeron hired the entire staff including the one which led LSU to the 2019 National Championship. After that Championship there were several coaches who left to be Head Coaches or NFL Coordinators. Several advisors or assistants left to go with the other coaches. Then we had a Coordinator retire. None of this is anything but normal attrition and coaches have to be replaced. LSU has some of the top coaches in the country such as Corey Raymond.
Apparently you are one of these “fans” who blames Orgeron for everything but gives no credit for anything he has accomplished. Get a grip.

This whole thread is rife with ignorance.

Cregg was entering his 4th season, clearly not a one-and-done, and the timing of the dismissal is clearly not a “remake”. If it were a bad hire he would’ve been fired in January, if not years earlier.

The timing certainly lends credence to Vol’s statements about getting caught. Let’s not pretend that there isn’t cheating everywhere, but you can’t get caught and stay on staff.

Incorrect. Aranda was Miles’ hire. His staff replacements have been abysmal, with the occasional blind squirrel finding a nut.

From the Advocate: Now, with Cregg's departure, only four assistant coaches remain from Orgeron's 2020 staff: wide receiver coach Mickey Joseph, running backs coach Kevin Faulk, cornerbacks coach Corey Raymond and special teams coordinator Greg McMahon

Because he was fired after only one season?

When Saban was at LSU, he hired a Defensive Coordinator and fired him about a month later.
Indicative that Saban has a problem also.

not close to accurate. the difference is that saban hires people to run his system. O hires people to bring in their system. well, since Brady, O is now asking offensive coaches to have this same philosophy. this is a major improvement for O.

Of course O has a lot of job equity, but he’s made quite a few questionable hires. I’m not sure that’s sustainable long term. I’m still a fan of CEO, but I’m not writing buyout checks either.

This is idiotic. Give him all the blame because he deserves it, yet no credit when he deserves it.

I listed Aranda, Brady, Mangus and Munoz as coaches that left for better jobs. Did I miss anyone?

Corey Raymond was already on staff when Orgeron got the head coaching job.

No that would be indicative of a failed hire which is exactly what was said in post that you quoted from. Having 6 such hires in a 4 year period is what's troublesome.

Could be possible that all violation talk is bs and he just wasn't pulling his weight recruiting. With dead season ending and camping starting it has become more apparent that he wasn't doing what needed to be done.

Or was he has was doing too much?
