This post was supposed to be a positive post. Basically saying even though the end of last year sucked, it seems like for the long-term it was a positive for the program and our chances to keep Wade.

It is clearly a positive post. Unfortunately there is a segment of people on this board that just want to spin anything that they can as negative so that they can accuse others of being miserable and bitch about it. Your OP makes perfect sense.

With last year's incident, does it make Wade less desirable to other teams?

I think until the fbi stuff is totally cleared up, you don’t really know

Cause honestly he’s prob owed a contract extension by LSU, but they can’t give him that under these circumstances.

I can’t imagine that makes him feel good, but again, the same circumstances makes him undesirable to most other schools as well for the time being. So where’s he going to go?

Why would Wade want to go anywhere else?? LSU, aside from KY, has more regular season championships (11) than any other SEC school and 3 of the top 50 players ever. We have tradition and can certainly maintain relevancy in basketball.
Just win baby and the fans will support the program.
Historically, our success in basketball is sporadic and years between relevance. Let’s hope this is the start to a PROGRAM!!!

This.

I hope will Wade understands this and has patience with the program and the fans.

How’s that work exactly? Does the fbi issue a statement clearing LSU ? Is there a press release or press conference where they clear those are deemed innocent?

What has to happen for unbelievers to stop the narrative of the smear campaign?

The smear campaign is long over, at this point it's really seeing if the NCAA finds anything and acts on it, multiple people on here have confirmed the NCAA has been snooping, so it's simply not over yet. When it is over, and if they find nothing, then it will be time to extend Wade. If they find something, and certainly we all hope they dont, then Wade has to go unfortunately as it's part of the new contract he signed.

The NCAA works at a glacially slow pace, so dont expect this to happen overnight, end of this season, or maybe for another year too. They basically got embarrassed by all this stuff going public in a trial from the FBI so ultimately they are going to dig up what they can and find someone to punish, you just have to hope it's not "us".

I love the guy, but what leverage does he hold?

Dude has 1 post-season win against UL-L in the NIT. He doesn't get credit for last year's run in the NCAA. He wasn't there.

He won a conference championship, which is a big deal. But he doesn't have leverage yet to demand anything. Dude is lucky to have a job.

I'm not an LSU hater. I'm a basketball season ticket holder. Just pointing out the obvious.

He needs to win in the post-season to make such demands. He's had a ton of success in a short amount of time, but that investigation has set him way back.

Last...We are yet to play Auburn or Kentucky. We could slide from 1st to 3rd with the quickness.

I’m not a College Basketball Coaching Expert but some coaches like coaching at a school that hasn’t been good for a long time. PJ Fleck likes coaching at Minnesota because he doesn’t have the expectation of making a Rose Bowl or CFP every year. If Wade went to UNC he’d hav to deal with the pressure to make an elite eight or final four. He’d also have to face the pressure of all the coaches before him.

wont be long...several East coast spots, ACC or big 10 opportunities, I could see him entertaining.

hopefully we throw some money into BB and make things more attractive.

I think he is here a while. He isn’t from a blue blood and they seem to hate him.

False. I am enjoying Will Wade's success for now. I'm just not dumb enough to not realize that the other shoe has to eventually fall.

I'd guess one more year until a big time basketball program comes calling.
