No one cares about women's basketball and any money it loses.

Sorry, facts are facts

LSU is going with the gymnastics model on this one.

Nikki has 50 years to win her first SEC title. If after 55 she doesn't have one they MAY consider making a change.

Nikki's teams are NEVER nationally ranked (In year 6 this is a major problem)

DD's teams have always been top ten

Nikki's contract is as follows: If she is fired after this season, LSU would owe her $300K. If she is fired after the 18-19 season, LSU owes her nothing.

If LSU is not gonna invest in getting a topnotch WBB HC, we might as well keep Nikki.

And it still took her over 40 years to win her first SEC title?

That's what I have heard anyway. Is that not true?

If Beth Torina never wins the SEC but always makes the CWS, do we fire her?

I care more about where we stand nationally

Difference with Nikki is we aren't competitive in neither

I can handle not always bein first in a stacked conference but WBB is never nationally ranked. Recruiting is shite too.

Nikki also took over a program that wasn't far removed from final four days. Its not impossible to succeed here.

And I thought women's basketball made the dance the last two years. Is that not a national thing?

How long did it take for the gymnastics coach to bring LSU to NATIONAL prominence? Forty years before the first SEC title? I guess the first 30 years they were winning national titles all the time, so the little ole SEC titles that were not won didn't matter?

Not at all.

I do find it interesting that someone who FULLY supports women's gymnastics and has accepted well over 30 years of futility wants the women's basketball coach gone after only 6 years. Why is that?

Indeed.
Ironically, I can remember when the women's basketball program was consistently winning the SEC and making final fours, there were many folks who would ask why the gymnastics team couldn't do the same. I can also remember folks saying that DD should've been fired. The other ironic thing is back then, the women's basketball team would draw huge crowds for the big games and gymnastics could hardly draw 1,000 people. Now the roles are basically reversed. Gymnastics draws huge crowds for their big games and the basketball team's crowds are small. But they don't have to be.............................................

DD is being paid a base salary of 275,000 and Beth is being paid 250,000. They have their teams in the hunt every year. Blame no one else other than Joe Aleeva. Niki sucks and so does Joe

Definitely not worth the money she is being paid. Reminds me of the Alvin Gentry situation. Seems she has peaked.
Time for a change

You're forgetting her posse that she hired as assistants. They're only concerned with their hair and nails and makeup. Only real coach on the team is a former head coach we're lucky to have.

I am perfectly fine with saying at the time Caldwell was a great hire. I don’t think anyone could have guessed she was going to suck quite this bad.

Letting her get away with it for 6 years is the real crime. It’s a laugh riot she’s still employed at lsu. Frankly the benefactor of LSU having to fire its football and men’s basketball coaches. If les and Johnny had succeeded I guarantee you she’d have been canned by now.

Hasn’t her absurd buyout dwindled this season? I expect this to be her last season if so. I’d bet money on it

The sad truth is college baseball is a minor sport on a national level. Nobody outside of a few areas really cares about the college game.

It's called reading comprehension Derek. He said CWS, not tournament.

Good to see you back bashing Coach Breaux trying to make your boss look good again.

Whats funny is Beth Torina was only set to receive a 2% raise after 3 straight CWS appearances. Many other unaccomplished coaches saw higher raises than that, it wasn't until Auburn showed interest that Alleva had to get off his arse and hand out a real raise.

Its leadership like that, LSU is lucky to find an elite coach that can deal with this bullshite administration

I'm on the same boat. She was extremely young and motivated. Turned UCLA around in terms of wins and losses extremely quick. She came from the Pat Summitt tree so it was a lot of positive and optimism.

I like Nikki and have followed her closely over her tenure here at LSU. I am not sure what it is but she lacks that fire now that she had when she stepped onto campus. She isn't horrible by any means outside that one year but ridiculously mediocre now. Our recruiting is beyond bad at this level

My question is why are people so content with mediocre products? Within her time here, Staley drove USCe past LSU quickly, as did a shitty MSU program. There are no excuses. A program can change quickly with the correct coach and if you want it badly.

Its obvious we don't want that, at least the admins don't care very much. I think I can speak for most LSU fans that we all want to be way better than mediocre in whatever we do
