Orgeron fan or not how can anybody be ok with this extension talk and there hasn't been any improvement. If Aranda leaves it doesn't matter how talented the team is Oregeron will screw up the next hire and we will be Ole miss 2007. There is to much coaching talent to extend are sideline mascots contract

Because contrary to what the rant thinks hiring and firing coaches is not all an AD does and Alleva does some good things that are not as public. He has flaws no doubt but he has upgraded facilities and raised the competitiveness of the athletic program as a whole. Softball, gymnastics, tennis, and golf have all improved since he took over with new facilities and the ability to compete at a national level.

Ultimately his tenure at LSU is tied to if O succeeds or fails.

Thats one thing and kind of a big one.

1-year change: +2%
5-year change: +33%
Donations: $33.5 million
Licensing/Rights fees: $57.1 million
3-year avg. football revenue: $86.6 million
3-year avg. men's basketball revenue: $8.2 million
3-year avg. women's basketball revenue: $0.4 million

Money is even bigger and well thats really good too.

Any other questions little one?

Helped to ensure we kept Aranda, hired Will Wade, has amazing women’s sports programs and one of the best college baseball coaches. Also has a team in the Fiesta Bowl that was picked to finish fifth in its own division and the program is making money hand over fist. Yeah, I can see why he should be fired.

Because the problems at LSU go a lot deeper than Alleva. Jimbo would've been our coach after '15 if F King Alexander hadnt fricked it up. Gotta look higher up in the administration than the AD.

I don't mind him getting an extension because will be hard to recruit otherwise. But his buy out better not go up and his salary better not increase. Next year we better be in the hunt till the very end and have a real offense.

1. That charlatan should never have been hired in the first place. That was the amazing thing. Our due diligence was severely lacking.

2. The BOS, who ultimately decide if he is fired, have largely been on his side due to the financial picture of the athletic department, and their ability to send funds to the academic side. Joe has very little to do with this, other than trying to squeeze every last drop from the fans, but they were happy with him because of the total finances. They don't care about peformance, prestige, etc. There are several BOS members who do not like him at all, but he's got enough on his side.

3. Because he's so spineless, those above him are able to do whatever they want and he falls in line. So why would they want him fired? No one above him cares about the best for LSU or making LSU the best it can be, they care about their own agenda. When you have a spineless Director beneath you, its easy to push your own agenda without worrying about their own.

This the measure of a successful AD. End of story. I don't know why people don't understand that.

After reading what Bob Brodhead said about LSU in his book. I would guess he is still AD by giving brother in law contracts to connected locals and allowing skimming off the top.

Because for of his faults LSU is better off with Alleva as AD than any of you crybabies.
