That's plenty good enough for the LSU/Louisiana Snowflake Pump Lump brigade.

Accept and embrace the mediocrity in all aspects of life. (That includes LSU Sports)

That's what most Louisiana people do.

That's why things are the way they are. (And I lived here for most of my life, so I can say that)

Yes. Must win implies he will be in some kind of trouble with LSU administration if LSU doesn't reach the CWS. That's not the case when you already won the West, SEC, SEC tourney, and a regional.

Now, the entitled crowd will piss and moan like children told no my their parents, but in reality after winning the SEC, the SEC tourney , and a regional he is totally safe.

Some want to think this is the 90ies of college baseball. Its not!

The "4 returning seniors" didn't come back primarily to get a ring considering the highest drafted of the four went in the 16th round. Usually, a junior in the top 10 rounds goes, the ones below that stays to try to improve draft stock (i.e. get a bogget draft bonus).

It makes for a nice, heartwarming narrative to say they bypassed money to win a title but it's just not true. Alex Lange won't be coming back to win a title, win or lose this year, because the money will be too great. But 16th-round money isn't that much and that was the most money at stake for those four guys. They came back because they weren't drafted high enough.

yes you are wrong, LSU has had a good season and firing a coach for losing in the playoffs is just not going to happen.

Horrible post at totally the wrong time

LSU has a big game today and you post this crap

Maineri has to turn it up a noch and make smarter coaching decisions . I don't think he is capable of doing that. If we get past Moo U. he doesn't have it between the ears to win in Omaha. Just look at the past history under Maimeri.

If only he could win one.
BTW how many coaches have won multiple CWS titles in the last ten years?

Fire them all!

At least this year if we choke in the Supers it won't be to some lowly mid-major that's "on a roll". I could at least be somewhat OK with losing to an SEC team.

That said I expect LSU to beat MSU in three games.

Beat me to it. I was also wondering if CPM actually won a title would that prove he had it "between the ears." Oh, wait...

It's irrelevant whether a team is a mid-major or not. If a team is in the final 16 teams in the country then who cares what conference they play in. People constantly want to rehash losses to teams such as Stony Brook or complaining about Coastal Carolina last year until they realized just how good that team was. Some of you act as if other teams are just supposed to bow down and give up when they find out they are playing LSU and somehow if we have a different coach it's going to cause us to not lose to a mid-major. Great baseball exists outside of the LSU team. Sorry to disappoint.

You do realize that no coach or program lives up to your standards. Every coach everywhere should be fired. No one is excepting mediocrity. It's more about living in reality and putting the best product on the field and competing hard and hoping that each new year turns out to be the one in which we win it all again.

Well this is dumb. 2012 Stony Brook and 2016 Coastal Carolina were better teams than this State team.
