Because he had 1 great season and that's it. He isn't high on any all time list in any defensive category in LSU history and we've had better DTs that haven't had their numbers retired.

Glenn Dorsey should absolutely have his name up there.

2-time All-American 1st team. Won every individual defensive award imaginable his senior season. Won SEC and national titles.

Stayed for his senior season. He was going to be a 1st-round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft before an injury during his junior season. Pretty sure he's an LSU grad. Homegrown guy from right down the road. Lengthy NFL career. He checks every box.

Dorsey recovered a fumble on his first ever snap as an LSU Tiger.

Put him up there.

Cam Newton only had 1 great season and he'll get his number retired. Dorsey has won the most individual awards ever at LSU and was a national champion. It's just too early to retire it now.

Cam won a heisman trophy and his number isn't currently retired so that's a bad comparison. And do you want to be Auburn? I'd like to think we have higher standards than a second fiddle school like Auburn. Plus we also had Chad Lavalais who won almost as many awards and did just as much if not more than Dorsey in 2003 for a national title team with a better record. We also had Booger McFarland who was better than both those guys and put up better numbers with zero help. Dorsey was an LSU great but not worthy of jersey retirement here.

Exactly

Why should he have his number retired?

Florida has had kickers wear #15 I think

Let that sink in and you think Dorsey should have his? Florida has one of the most decorated players ever and won a heisman and he's not retired.

Come on guys, whitworth, Dorsey? Retired jerseys are for legends.

The only legends in LSU history are shaq, pistol and cannon. No one else even comes close.

Well you can put TC in that group That's fine, but he's definitely #4.
