2019 stats, not just 2020 - Daniels continued to be electric throughout his freshman campaign. In 12 starts, he threw for 2,943 yards and 17 touchdowns while adding 3 touchdowns and 355 yards on the ground. The Arizona State quarterback had four games with 3 touchdown passes, including against Oregon. He also achieved a career-high 408 passing yards against the Ducks.
On top of demonstrating a big arm, Daniels displayed impressive decision-making acumen for a young collegiate quarterback in his freshman campaign. He threw just 2 interceptions all season, tying for the fewest by any quarterback in the nation with over 200 pass attempts.

Impossible to say but speculation is the life-blood of this forum so - I think he'd have had his ups and downs just like Jayden - more big plays, more turnovers and IMHO team results probably very similar.

Nope, could care less. Ive seen the best there ever was and that's enough for me. This is about thinking outside the box which most rabid fans either way can't do

I always like to judge players on one or 2 appearances especially when the other due they back up has started for 30+ games. Makes sense....

Not what this is about - again rabid fans can't think critically. JD is not as good as he was in 2019 his freshman year but everyone throws Nuss under the bus for 2 appearances.....

I disagree but take your point.

Serious question...has Nuss beaten out one scholarship QB at LSU in his tenure other than Howard in 2022?
Posted on 12/30/22 at 9:36 am to LSUAZ
He would’ve been drafted by now if he had 2-3 years as a starter. JD is going on year 5 next year and he will still be lucky to be one of the first 7-8 QBs drafted.

He wasn’t good enough to beat out Max Johnson or Jayden Daniels in his 2 chances so I’m not sure.

Please stop this insane nonsense.

HE SHOULD OF BEEN THE QB TWO YEARS AGO
Posted on 12/30/22 at 9:52 am to LSUAZ
Nuss had a chance to get a lot of starting experience this season. He failed to beat out JD

Unstoppable is what you’re looking for. Maybe superhuman, calm, cool, collected and with x-ray vision.

Think Brett Favre but faster and smarter and with a bigger arm and more of an ability to SLING it

Admin, for the sanity of this board, please anchor any and all JD/Nuss threads. It inevitable leads to idiot ranters crapping on both of these young men who are giving their all to LSU.

My point was What IF and to see who could legitimately take the other side and think about any improvement ANY good QB would have with that much starting time
which is why i posed my question to you.
not all starting experience is created equally.
sure JD has been a starter for those years, but you cannot objectively look at his situation out west and call it stable or fluid.
if Nuss had a similar type of experience, he too would likely still be deeply flawed due to lack of consistent coaching and schemes.
Hell, just look at LSU's quarterback history this century.
How many guys have we had just steadily got worse and worse the longer they were here?
Because being poorly coached and developed is sometimes worse than the experience being gained by playing.

Your premise is flawed.
If Nuss performed better in practices he would have EARNED a starting position, and would be entitled to the PT experience a starter gets.
Unless you are advocating some sort of preferential treatment for Nuss, a football version of affirmative action?
If i was going to give free, undeserved PT to a QB for the bowl, I would give it to Howard, who has more promise for the program in the long run.
