Robiskie set records, but said that Charlie Alexander would break them. CoAch Mac called him Alexandria.

He played in a era that Les Miles would have been at home in.

Robiskie was a top notch assistant coach in the NFL for years. I thought he would become LSU's first Black HC.

Mediocrity does not render itself to nicknames such as Alexander the Great. No, he wasnt Barry Sanders but he was a bruising back with very good speed and durability. Running in between the tackles for 30+ carries per game with not much help with backup runners finally caused some injuries that would slow him his senior year and in the pros. Nothing Mediocre about him though - one of the best of all time for LSU.

He had plenty of moves

Not quite. He was a great back, but his only move was cutting upfield and turning on the jets and at 225, he ran through a lot of tackles.
I saw every one of his games and you’re simply wrong.

I was young but what I remember was he couldn't cut to save his life.

I used to listen to him on the radio when I was young. He was a legitimate heisman trophy contender

The game I remember most vividly, I was there, was the Sun Bowl game against Stanford. He ran for 197 and won the MVP, even though we lost. He was a one man team. I think he was one of the best backs in SEC history no matter the era. He was Earl Campbell like at times.

this is a very weird response. you are a strange person. and you obviously don't seem to be able to understand things in context.

and by the way, Morse code is still around. as is electricity.

bullshite. We passed the ball our share in those days and our passing game was a helluva lot better than it is right now. Bert Jones, Tom Hodson ... those names ring a bell?

c'mon man. things must be running together for you. I don't believe hodson or jones ever qb'ed when alexander was our back.

I was at LSU same years. Big and fast, a workhorse. As others have said, not much wiggle. But very, very good at what he did. Could take over a game, run you over then outrun the pursuit. And his reputation around school was that he was a helluva nice guy.

Very good. He was a great, down to earth human being. Watching him run reminded me of a thoroughbred racing horse. Big, fast, and smooth.

Georgia hardly ever passed the ball. They had Herschel.
Auburn hardly ever passed the ball. They had Bo Jackson.

Alexander had good speed when he first got here. Seemed to get bigger and loose some of the quickness.

Saying Robiskie wasn't as good as Alexander is not belittling him. Terry was a tough, slashing runner. Alexander was a greater back, period.

He was very good. Big guy; tough; very fast for his size.
