I have not tuned into one second of a Clemson game. I believe they lost several key players from last year.

Can anyone offer a synopsis of their strengths and weaknesses?

Defense line not as strong, but offense is potent as of late. They will make a run.

North Carolina is a little bit better than Vandy and they almost lost to them. Other than that, they have played well. A lot of offensive potential.

the transitive property does not apply to CFB.

Good team, haven’t been truly tested. They’re still a dangerous team, especially on offense. They’re first tough game will probably come in the CFP.

soft schedule means they won't be anywhere near ready for the Tigers

Yep, soft schedule explains why I don’t know much about them. Have not cared that stop down and watch a game, which got me wondering what they actually have.

i believe they are very beatable...offense is potent but untested as far as talent against talent...Defense is no where close to who they were last year....the most dangerous team this year is OSU

Their soft schedule last year didn’t stop them from winning both CFP games last year by 30 plus, including beating Bama who won their SEC games by an average of 30 plus.

Clemson has returned 9 of 11 from the offense that won it all last year. They will be tough to stop offensively.

On defense, they lost the big 4 big DL and a star corner (Wilkins, Bryant, Ferrell, and Lawrence and Mullen’s) but return almost everyone else. The starters who replaced those stars were all highly rated 4/5 star recruits who have gotten lots of playing time the last year or two during blowouts. While the DL isn’t a “wall” line they were the last two years, they are still good and very fast on the edges (Xavier Thomas and the other end were both 5 star defensive ends two years ago with Thomas being the no 1 overall defensive recruit in the country). Their back 7, and in particular their secondary, is their strength.

Clemson is very good. Definitely top 4 team regardless of their schedule. They could beat LSU , OSU or anyone else. However, either of those two can beat them as well.

put simply, our offense can score more easily on their defense than their offense can score on our defense. They are good but not great. Will be much easier to slow down than Bama.

They’re starting to play up to their potential. Not as good as LSU but probably deserving of a top 4 team.

I think you can say this comparing LSU to ANY team in the country and that’s why LSU should be no 1 and favored to win it all.
