i know people credit our 'system' for getting a QB more pro-ready than others (I mean, i guess it does), but should a college OC be in the business of building the perfect college QB or the perfect NFL QB?

At the end of the day, his job is to get the offense to perform. Fro ma development standpoint, I'd like a guy who can do both. Maximize the ability in college, but prepare him also for the next level. That's a tall order, and it's the rare coach who can.

Great question

Ideally, both is the answer but it seems to me it's the kids decision. Most seem to gravitate towards College system being ran.

Well, he actually has at least two jobs. The first job is to get the offense to perform. The second job is to recruit elite QBs to play at LSU.

In my opinion, it's easier to do the second job if you can do the first job in a style that gets QBs ready for the NFL.

do you remember how bad osu was 3 years ago. we are better than that right now. we could win it all in 2017 but we have to make significant progress in 2015/2015. in 2 years we will have better rbs (LF, guice combo.) better wrs. TJ, MD, Quinn etc. and harris with exp.

this year is setting up perfect, bring in hungry guys to coach D and add a couple top notch recruits combined with a 8-5 that unequivocally tells miles that changes must be made on D.
I think we are close as long as the early defections to nfl every year don't hinder our progress.

Forget three years ago. Do you remember how bad OSU was in SEPTEMBER? Rome practically was built in a day.

OSU made a coaching change and improved greatly the next year.

Grading our 2014 roster, top to bottom, in terms of sheer talent: 84
Grading our coaching staff, 2014, in terms ability to coach up: 74

Conclusion: we need a few better players at key positions; we need a lot better "coaching 'em up" from our coaches. Otherwise, no playoff berth for LSU for some time.

Ohio State had lost 3 games ONCE since 2005 outside of a lame duck year.

Try again

What a difference a great QB makes!! With him we beat Bama this year by at least three TDs easy.

very rare.

and I ask that question bc of some things i saw/heard last night regarding meyer. When people say Meyer can develop QB's like nobody else, others take exception to that citing reasons like he can't develop an NFL qb, or his QB's aren't ready for the pros.

It's a bit disingenuous to hold meyer accountable on how his QB's develop in the league, especially with how much he extracts from them at the college level.

1 QB

This. And that's not to say that a current Tiger QB can't be developed to be that guy. But certainly not there yet. The rest of the team is talented and will be developed enough next season to compete for titles, IMO.

Not without the QB. The head of the snake is more important than you think.

Reality is how you perceive it and I. Perceive a LSU program with tremendous success how many programs has had our success in recent history !
