How about build relationships with your players other than the QB? Can you start there first? A lot of these guys don't have a relationship with BK the reason he doesn't know they are jumping the portal.

This post explains it all. About a year ago I imagined same scenario except we pay a guard $25k a year and Auburn offers $50k and bye bye to the recruit and player we’ve invested 4-5 years in including recruiting time and effort. At that time I had no idea our starting QB would get $1.5MM, that Carson Beck would be driving around UGA’s campus in a Lamborghini, etc.

This too may be a factor. But it's not just BK's team that's losing players to the portal.
