He should have never been hired because of his health issue. He should have been fired after his first game against Arizona when the precipitous coaching drop off from Saban was evident and we lucked out a win (I get the Katrina displacement). Then he really should have been let go when Saban asked to come back before 2006 season

At this point I believe every rumor ever posted about him here.

Wasted more talent than any coach in program history by a long shot. Think where the program would be if we’d have hired a good coach instead.

Know him personally? No.
But I knew many college aged female servers who hated seeing his creepy arse walk into the restaurant.
I blew it off at the time. I bought into the “good family man” image 100%. But then things started coming out and I started remembering several 18-19 year old girls who were absolutely creeped out and disgusted by the old pervert.

Spot on. Skip Bertman was a bad an AD and he was great as a coach.
Hires like Les and Smoke were simply atrocious when far better candidates were available. Why Skip didn’t have the sense to just promote Jimbo was exceptionally short sighted.

A good entertaining coach. Wasn’t great but not as bad as people think. Second most wins of any coach in LSU history, couple of SEC titles and a national title. If I were hiring any head coach blind and you could guarantee me the Les Miles win loss percentage, championship games and appearances I’d probably take it most of the time. BK is a better coach but We’ll see if he sticks around long enough to pass Miles in wins - I’d love it if he did.

I have said this before, I don’t believe you can “get lucky” and win a national championship. Entirely to much has to come together at the same point in time for that to ever happen. When he was winning, he was considered “interesting and quirky”. When he had a stretch of losses, he was a “weird old pervert”.
Bottom line is, he had outlived his coaching “shelf life” and our fans were tired of him. We like to complain about him, but most everyone would take him again if he could have the same success.

Best way to prepare for the future is not dwelling in the past.
It’s all about national championships l, he brought one. Now we root for BK

Are there unicorn and elves in this fantasy world of yours?
1. Saban never had any "luck wins?"
2. Who out there would have been not a drop off from Saban? Even now?
Saban NEVER EVER wanted to come back to L S U. I don't care what your baws tell you. This never happened. He was totally ficused on Alabana.
Time to face reality, when Saban escaped from Baton Rouge, the only way he was ever coming back would be as an opposing coach.
