I love comments like this, they go along with the, "I never liked Les, I knew he was incompetent" some 12 years later.

What is this "7 (qb's) on roster" nonsense?

Lee was not even close to being a Tua. Are you joking?

How do we know Jarret Lee wouldn't have been the next Tom Brady if LSU could develop quarterbacks?

I hope Brennan is great but I just don't understand why everyone is convinced hes the saviour of our program.

bit of an overstatement, no? the kid can sling the ball no doubt. whether the coaches will allow him to or just relegate the passing game to long third downs and playing catch up, we don't know.

also, I hope he's like Lee but not afraid of getting hit.

What the frick are you talking about?

Yes, I become skeptical over a QB who sets a record for pick 6’s.
I said I was never excited about him going into the 2011 year.

jarrett lee wasn't anything special, but he did lead the sec in pass eff his senior year and bailed us out of some games we wouldn't have won w/o him. he was a solid qb and a good tiger. dude had a rough true frosh year. w/e.

The damage done was minimal at best. Lee was a passer and things can happen but in the same vein good things can also happen. That was one good D that Bama had that year as well. Without Lee it was 21-0/thread
I will never understand the game plan in that game. Why would you come out passing on 4 of the first 6 plays against Bama? Especially calling 2 long passes as his only throws after the late hit on the first drive.

The game plan should have been more like we had against Oregon that year.

Had a awesome year until Miles put in the street warrior.
Actually Lee's best stretch of games started when JJ threw his first pass vs Gators, up to Bama game.
Up to then he was pretty meh and in fact threw for just 38% vs UK the prior week.
Career stats indicate Bama was his kryptonite, not JJ.

We’ll O didn’t throw him in the fire so that’s a good thing. Lee was fricked from the get go.

starting the Bama game. Lee had us undefeated... the year before was that, the year before.
Everyone knew that Bama would stack the box against JJ with no fear of the pass.

Correct I witnessed all 8 games.

I was talking about the expectations going into that year.
It was all about the defense and questions at QB, based off Lee’s previous performances, that’s all.
He did a great job in those 8 games managing the game.
The special teams bailed him out a few times, but you couldn’t of asked for more out of him.
