he is the commanding officer. the play calling at the 32 was horrid, but can he not overrule the crow and tell him they are gonna pound the rock? already in fg range. jasper was warm. oh, and remember what happened the last time we faced a similar situation. the uga 31 yd line? chuck the truck? but why ice a game when you can get cute? 17 seconds? it took you 17 seconds to notice a t.o. had not been called. 17 sec.? thats a fking eternity.

i called his office last yr after the ole miss debacle. left my name, number, location. also called alleva and ausberry. ausberry had enough sack and class to call me the following monday afternoon on my cell. had a nice 20 min conversation. sounds like a helluva stand up guy who wants nothing but success. let me just say that miles is being scrutinized and monitored very heavily this yr (per ausberry). no, leslie didnt return my call.

Anybody that knows anything about football knows Miles is not a competent coach but a buffoon

Like Ausberry would tell a stranger shite like that.

You are an idiot and a liar.

More sober than the average LSU fan.

I say that with all due respect to my fellow Tiger fans. UT can't hang with LSU when it comes to partying.

I use my real name. Not that it takes coaching experience to recognize the glaringly obvious. He doesn't learn, else why the repeat of the Ole Miss experience in the game against PSU? Miles is not a premier coach.

And your sucking up to him isn't gonna change him either.

That's yet to be decided.

What we do know is that he has the "premier" winning record in the history of LSU football at this time for a coach here 5 years..

Call it what you wish, but I'm not turning tail on a coach with his history of achievements at LSU cause he/team have stumbled while continuing to win, go to bowl games, and be nationally ranked.

If you want to, knock yourself out.

Les to me is a very likable coach. His mistakes indicate to me he is a coach in training. Betting the house on perry lou, dual DC fiasco, and keeping Crowton on board have been costly decisions. Rihghting the defense last year was encouraging, but keeping crowton this year is equally discouraging. So I'm undecided but I think there is hope. Where the offense goes this season, my opinion goes.

I think that's a tad harsh, but no doubt Les/staff have stumbled in both 08 and 09 for whatever the reason.

Personally, I'm not totally ready as of now to throw Crowton under the bus for the O strugglies of 09. I'm awfully close to that point, but I think there was a STAFF decision made in 09 to try and prevent the QB mishaps of 08.

Add to that the O line problems, the injuries at RB, the less than sharp routes run by R's/drops, and a pretty green SEC QB. I think all of those are the reason Crowton remained, but I do think he is hanging by a thread.

They think he is dimwitted, especially after the Ole Miss debacle.

so is bill b dimwitted for his colts debacle?

is miles the only coach to make a boneheaded call or lack there of?

answer, no. every coach has made a boneheaded call or lack there of within their career.

My UT friends consider him an idiot here in Austin. They were hoping he'd come out of the stands and take over for PM against UT in the CWS.

I have hope for him and LSU football in 2010.

I cover the Gulf Coast for my employer and spend time in most SEC cities or at least in the surrounding towns.

I get more comments about the play calling and QB problems than I do about Les. But know this, most schools in the SEC would be glad to have had him over the past few years.

I'm not a big Miles' fan but I am one of those fans that know it could be and has been worse.

This.

Les frustrates me too, but he doesn't deserve to be slammed all the time. Pete Carroll lost to one or weaker teams every year since his last NC and gets a pass. Bo Schembechler, Les' mentor, never won a NC and was like 2-10 in Rose Bowls, and is considered a legend.

Nebraska, Syracuse, Washington, Michigan, etc. have all hastily fired or forced out coaches over the last decade or so and they entered black holes soon after. Les is running out of time, but we should realize how much worse it could be before we pull a trigger on him
