re: Kia Telluride

We bought the SX Premium AWD in October of 2020. Got lucky and were at the dealership (N. Austin) the morning after a delivery of vehicles. White, Nightfall edition. Paid MSRP of $50K at the time.

I have been skeptical of "Kia's", but they've been building better vehicles for some time now. This SUV is great!

There's plenty of legroom front and second row, so that won't be a problem.

It has great tech, safety features, gas mileage, and warranty. We have two girls and are always dropping the 3rd row for more passengers. Plenty of room back there with the captain seats in the 2nd row.

I'm hearing they are going way over MSRP right now. We looked at a K5 and Forte recently for my 15 year old. They are $5K and $7K over MSRP for those two cars. I've heard of the Telluride going $15-$18K over MSRP.

Good luck!

I have the Tikka 3-Lite in .270 WSM. Put a limbsaver recoil pad on it to deal with the kick. I have no complaints!

I played competition (amateur and eventually pro) in the 90's and into the early 00's. We started out in the woods playing rec ball, then tournament woodlands ball. In the mid-90's the hyperball and inflatable bunkers came on the scene. Made the game better for spectators and recording.

We started out with pumps, then Auto-mags, Auto-cockers, and then Electronic guns came out. Was really cool to see the sport progress so much in 10 years or so.

I think I would like to go play again one day!
Lucked into a fire watch job on a shutdown at the Mobil plant in Beaumont in summer of '92. Buddy's father was a crane operator and got us both on.

I made $10.50/hr working 7-12's, 6 pm to 6 am.

Saved up $9K that summer and bought a used Ford Ranger to get me through college. :nana:
Playing co-ed softball about 20 years ago, hit a ball into right center and decided to turn it into a double. As I was coming into second base, the right fielder (a dude) fired it into the short-stop (a chick). She closed her glove right before the ball got to her. Ball completely missed her glove and drilled her right in the nose & mouth. This all happened right in front of me, obviously. Freaking haunts me to this day, the sound, the blood, her screaming..... Quit playing co-ed after that. I should have stayed on first base

Boat Collision, Chambers Co. TX

wake board boat collides with bass boat

Just terrible news. Three dead, couple more in critical condition in the hospital.

quote:

The crash involved 12 people in total, including five people on the ski boat and seven people on the bass fishing boat, authorities said.
First marriage lasted 10 months, after dating 4 1/2 years. I chose a girl from the trailer park. First to graduate HS in her family. Through college in 4 years, honor grad. Got a decent job at 22. But couldn't shake the family trashiness. She's since divorced after having 2 kids and living back at home going through rehab and dating a guy in prison.

Second marriage will be 14 years in August. We've gone through some tough shite, but are on the up and up now and I'm going to make it work for my two girls.

Marriage is tough. Trash will be trash.....

Back at the office today after having it for past 7 days.

I did lose 7 lbs, so that's a win. :dude:
A little Texas HS Trivia - once WOS plays their 7th game next year, they will have played 500 as a program. That qualifies them for the record books.

They will become the winningest HS Football Program in TX history.

Yes, they are 4A D2 today, but a lot of those wins came as a 5A and 4A school back in the day.

Thanks to Dan Hooks and Cornell Thompson coaching.
Good luck to your son and the Mustangs.

WOS Class of '92 here.

I'll be watching at 3:00 today
I've been here since 2003. Lived in Riata when first coming to town. Good place for single folks. I'm now married with two girls and live up north in Avery Ranch (that dad life).

If I were in my 20's and could pull it off, I'd get me a place in the Domain. Poon everywhere. Good eats, bars, Top Golf, places to watch the game, and shopping if you give a shite about that.

A couple millennials that work for me won't live north of 35th street/Burnet/North Lamar area.

You'll love it here. Dat Traffic Doh
A few year's back I was at the Gold's Gym in Bee Caves, South Austin. Noticed a big tatted up dude wearing a bandana on the flat bench. I don't get wrapped up in other folks shite in the gym so kept on with my workout. Saw him later on military pressing 225 in the squat rack later and noticed how tall he was.

Was in the locker room about to walk out when I heard the toilet flush, and here comes the Undertaker, stands right next to me washing his hands. Legit 7 footer. Wearing tank top, Jordon shorts and shoes. I said "Big Fan!" He said, "Thanks" and I walked out.

Watched him drive off in a Jaguar, seat way back, looking out the rear windows. I believe he lives in Dripping Springs or somewhere in South Austin.

My CSB for the day.... I'd vote Goldberg as the badass in this thread though.

He dropped out of the program to focus on academics. He's a senior, and struggled last year with athletics/traveling and studying.

Good move.
