He should opt out he is only hurting the team by his on again and off again antics. The kid obviously has no character and is just buying time till the NFL Draft but in the interim he is hurting the team.

Yeah. Choosing to ignore the rest of the dominant 2019 season and only focus on his one bad game definitely makes you totally unbiased.

Nothing against the kid, but 2 years in a row want play against that offense. Might be a good business decision not to lose your draft spot by them exposing anything.

I do find it strange....like you said, don't chance your $$$ with a bad showing.

. I saw him getting blasted from his UCLA film

This kinda shows that you don’t really know what you’re watching then… maybe if you would’ve used an Alabama game as an example of him having a bad game then you’d sound a little more credible. But choosing the UCLA game as your example of him getting blasted, shows your ignorance… if you know football even slightly, then when you watched the UCLA game you would have seen a CB that made a (what many consider elite offensive minded coach) have to figure out an offensive game plan using only one side of the field. UCLA had a total of 9 complete passes and like 5 or 6 of them were to the opposite side of where Sting was lined up. And the other 3/4 completions only were to his side of the field bc it was thrown to a RB on a check down. 1 pass was thrown to his man; and it was late in the 4th after UCLA had been gashing us on the ground all night. EVERYBODY would have expected a run like Stingley did, and this gave his man the jump. Then Stingley tried to make a big play by going for the ball instead of securing the tackle, which is understandable/justifiable bc he knew that another score would have sealed the game and bc he assumed (albeit incorrectly) that surely he had a teammate that would come secure the tackle while he tried to get the ball… that’s advanced football awareness. And the NFL scouts see that kind of stuff and they know ((bc they’re pros that actually know the game and know what they are watching and/or looking for)) that down late in a game like that; that is what all elite DBs do; try to get the ball while the other teammates come “clean up” or “finish” the tackle. Big players make big plays; but no one is perfect nor successful 100% of the time when trying to make that play. But even on that ONE bad play; an NFL scout would have seen Stings amazing recovery time; and his elite speed.

Also if you knew what you were talking about; you would’ve noticed and known that all of DTR’s career his favorite target was/has been that stud tight end they have; and if you watched DTR closely, that was the first read his eyes went to anytime he dropped back to pass… BUT there were a few plays where Sting was manned up against that TE and every play DTR either scrambled to throw it away, or tucked it and ran, without even looking to Sting’s side and his favorite go to target.

Yeah, I was at the LSU game. Stingley is one of the few that showed hustle that night.

Dude do you honestly believe this?? No one is truly “scared” to face Leach’s offense right now this early in his time at miss st… hell dumbass bo pelini stubbornly played cover zero and/or 1 the entire game last year and only lost by 10. Leach’s offense ((not yet at least)) is not some elite, phenomenal, unstoppable offense like all our fans are making it out to be.

Also, the kid literally had spent the night in a hospital with illness the day before the game last year… I don’t know Stingley personally or anything but even I can tell you for a fact he wouldn’t go through such extreme lengths trying to avoid the mighty juggernaut of Mississippi State…

I still think he's going to opt out. I hope Im wrong, but if the NCAA is going to allow these stadiums to go full capacity, they need to do away with covid opt out years.

Unfortunately, I think players like Stingley in the future will simply leave college early and wait for their first draft eligible year. the Cat is out of the bag.

I wonder if walk on's was smart enough to add a complete season clause to his contract.

Hell, just a few years ago Trendon Watford, a 5 star player out of Alabama, who was on the LSU basketball team was interviewed about the upcoming LSU/Alabama football game. He said in the interview he was an "Alabama football fan" and essentially said he was rooting for Alabama in the game because that's where he grew up...even though he was currently a student at LSU!!!

Of course there are outliers and i agree with your original comment; I was just trying to say that wasn’t every kids mindset. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen a kid being interviewed on NSD after signing and them asking why he choose who he choose and he says because I grew up a fan and watching all their games with my family and/or dad every Saturday, blah blah blah etc…

Granted I will admit this though; I’m basing my comment off of the past. What we see in CFB now and recently is something completely different than what it used to be; I totally agree with you about most top recruits in CFB’s present state, look at where/who they sign with as a business decision… that fire and passion and love for the game and/or a team that recruits had in the past, is becoming more and more obsolete.
