If WW is the one they are claiming made the “offer” then how do u clear Smart without questioning WW? They clearly dont completely believe it was all a misunderstanding otw WW would be reinstated.

I read (yeah I know) that they talked to his AAU coach as well as someone else (can't remember who that was).

They could've cleared Smart far faster had Wade complied with the joint investigation.

He was cleared because they dont have anything incriminating from WW. They have nothing on Smart.

All Smart has to do is deny
Play it out
Declare for draft
Trial won't start until April

From my understanding it is illegal to even make an offer as a coach. As long as the SEC can’t prove Smart accepted anything he’s clear.

It’s almost like you can conduct an investigation without having to compromise a federal trial.

the tape referred to both the family and a 3rd party who seemed to be handling things for the family. The more degrees of separation the harder to prove. Might be the only smart move made in this whole thing.

Its only an assumption that the “offer” was money. Using assumptions you can assume Smart accepted the money since he is at LSU. This whole thing is full of conflicting policie/procedures. Ah well. Its made for high drama.

Wade's infractions have very little to do with Smart, other than smart is the player the "handler" was supposed to be representing.
The handler could have been a fraud that didnt know Smart at all..butbthat doesnt make Wade's taped confession less of a violation.
Smart being cleared means they dont think he knew of nor took any money. It doesnt mean nothing was going on, cause obviously something was between the adukts in the room.

Wade is still fricked and still has to answer about those FBI tapes.

So you’re saying they believe there is a possibility an offer was made but not accepted. Keeps getting better

it’s the Cam Newton defense.

as long as Smart “doesn’t know” about any offers, he’s clear.

He “offered “ a chance at a college degree, playing time as a freshman, tutors for any classes he may have trouble in and the family doesn’t have to enter through the general admission doors for the game the can enter through the faculty entrance

It really makes no sense.

If you are playing him then you aren’t concerned about any wrongdoing, therefore the coach should be back as well.

He's probably good enough to get a two-way contract at some point next year

There is no confession or Wade would be fired already... We have media reports of a supposed transcript that show Wade cryptically talking about some kind of offer... Even the report admits there's no context or evidence what that offer is (and there are offers that are def. not violations

I get this then.

However, offer can be a vague term without any specifics or even direct contact. Still no proof of that type of offer.
