I’d like to keep Hill in relief.

Same here. I think our weekend guys looked good first weekend.
Hill can be a dominant closer this year and heal up from injuries to take Henry's Friday's spot next year.

Gio had bad first move but that ball was drilled and was going for extra bases either way. Made a nice catch against wall later in the game.

I don’t agree. I think Andrew Stevenson catches that one, but it would have been an elite play. The good catch against the wall was a really nice play in the same inning. In fact Gio turned it into a sacrifice fly that scored the runner he allowed on third due to the misplayed ball.

There’s no greater value than a starting pitcher. You’d be hurting your team by only making him a closer and throwing him a couple innings a weekend.

With our offense and defense, I think we’ll need to out-duel other great starting pitching in conference play. We need dominant swing and miss guys. You can’t be an effective closer if guys like Labas and Marceaux don’t miss bats and we rely on this defense while also being average on offense. Won’t be a ton of Save situations imo.

Give me Henry and Hill on Fridays and Saturdays for 200 pitches every weekend and let’s see how far they can take us.

Cool. Lsu is being cautious with hill coming off injury, him starting will have to wait.

And they should obviously. My point is he was one of our top 2 starters a year ago until the injury so you know that’s what Mainieri has to be thinking by the time conference play comes around.

You don’t make a kid with his talent a closer unless you absolutely have to. The value to this team and to Hill’s personal future is in him being a starter.

How many innings did he pitch and who gave up the runs?
The box score with all the stats is on LSUSports.net under the baseball schedule tab.

It's very easy to look up so that you don't have to keep asking others to look it up for you.

You obviously have not been keeping up with Baseball.
Like I said in the post you responded to, Hill is coming off an arm injury and the earliest CPM thinks he will available to start will be SEC play. If our weekend guys are solidified by then and healthy, look for Hill to be our dominant closer all year and start Fridays next year. If there is a crack you will see Hill before the end of the year.

Depends. Last year he was throwing 92-94. If his velocity has to drop like that to throw 90 pitches, then its arguable where he is more valuable
