As for myself, im really worried about CB.
Obviously nothing you can do about it now but if we don't get pressure on the QB then LSU will have to find other ways to stop them.
Maybe play some zone.

We had to move a guy thats been at safety last two years to CB.
If that isn't telling IDK what is.

He also has been burnt toast the past 2 years too.
I'm definitely concerned about CB going against a heisman contender QB who shredded us last year and 2 very good WRs on FSU's roster. Front seven for LSU has to dictate the game otherwise it's going to be a very long day. No Smith is going to hurt big time. Have to make FSU one-dimensional.

It means we aren't sure about the group we have.

Sage Ryan is not a CB. He also doesn't have the size. I'm honestly very concerned about FSU's size at WR. They have like nobody under 6'4 on the roster except 6'2 slot guy.

Is Denver Harris gonna play? Can he make a difference in our secondary?

Very concerned after watching raw practice footage on Tiger Gold. Duece(22) is undersized and Zy (24) seems slow of foot. #17 Hilton and #8 Nabors were wearing them out! I was most impressed with (26) Stamps. He looks to get early PT.

Who knows. He has the talent to be a shutdown corner but the mind of a 12 year old sometimes.
It's more mental than physical with him.

CB is our Achilles heel.

Imma be honest it’s a huge concern. We don’t have close to s traditional lsu shutdown secondary rn. Theirs no Derek Stingley, greedy Williams, kristian Fulton or Tre white level lock down cover corner. Having said that, the cb room does have more potential than last year. Zy alexander wirh his length and ball skills can be a capable no.1. The rest of the room tho is unknown.
Duce chestnut seems likes a smart corner but he has some athletic limitations in terms of his long speed, sage Ryan we flat out don’t know what to expect from him at outside corner, Denver Harris beyond his attitude drama has not performed well in practice and hasn’t even gotten a rep wit the first team so he’s out of fold atm despite his raw talent and stamps has been the suprise of camp his future appears bright. Welch Depsite a strong spring didn’t snag a cb job like many expected. So overall, it is a position group that Will absolutely lean on the pass rush to take pressure off them

Unfortunately it appears Harris won’t be a factor early in the season. He was running wit the 3rd team defense majority of camp and apparently according to reports, he hasn’t seen one rep with the first team defense he doesn’t appear close to contributing. Beyond struggling to grasp the zone defense his man coverage has not been good enough either

Honestly it looks way better than it did last year.
ETA: Obviously, CB is a concern right now. If we can see that from the outside, the coaches know. They've earned the right to figure this out. I just think we've got more talent than we did coming into 2022.

Sage Ryan, 5'11", 202 lbs
Tre White, 5'11", 192 lbs
Denzel Ward, 5'11", 190 lbs
If you want to say that Ryan can't cover as well, fine, but he's not too small to play corner.
The average NFL corner is only 6'0".

I think we have some young guys that are gonna shine Sunday.
But, we absolutely have to get pressure with quality containment.

How does it have more potential when your two corners last year were great.
At this point we don't even know who will be the top 2 guys. That isn't good.
Stamps is going to be a guy but he is a true freshman.

Matt House. I feel good.

Not at all. We have a ton of talent and the worry is overblown. If we have several injuries we’ll be in trouble but Duce and Zy are studs
