in all seriousness, maybe it because im a dumb architect and not an economist/acct/number crucher - but im more concerned about the aesthetic. the additions done by trahan architects are fine. the new windows on north side are beautiful. but thats were things go south. the changes made last off season are slightly tacky in my humble opinion. even worse: the proposed south addition is downright awkward, vile, and ugly.

keep some coherence to tigerstadium: nicely restored historic core with functional and bare bones outer exoskeleton.

seriously, proposed south endzone addition is beyond awful

Gotta love how Neyland Stadium's capacity changes just about every year.

Neyland is the most uncomfortable place in the country to watch a game.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but I think you will be pleasantly surprised after it is finished

Agreed.

And FWIW, the idea of redesigning the SEZ expansion is moot, considering it's already under construction.

This.

Anyone who buys a ticket must be height/weight proportionate or they should be required to buy two seats... or, at the very least, they should be forced to eat the fan who's seat they are squeezing out.

I don't think it's awful, but I do understand where he is coming from.

For me, it goes back to the way Tiger Stadium used to look...

...now just imagine a fully expanded Tiger Stadium seating 107,000+, and even more importantly, featuring around 200 suites...looking exactly like the old Tiger Stadium. (Edit: Except for the god-awful looking south end zone. I mean carrying the look of the north, east and west around.)

I'm talking about the east and west upper decks, the new SEZ addition, and the future NEZ addition...all with the classic Tiger Stadium look. All the way around. It would be as if the new SEZ addition...a free standing structure...was built all the way around the stadium, with the classic Tiger Stadium look.

That would have been badass.

I agree about the architectural integrity that has been lost. The horseshoe Tiger Stadium from 1936 to the 50's was the perfect compliment to the Italian renaissance style of the campus. The South End zone was the first mistake in design then followed by the first West upper deck, then the east, new west. The new South upper doesn't bridge the two upper decks to make all uniform as was originally discussed when the new west upper was erected and the old west upper taken down.

not so sure. all i have to go off of is a color pencil hand rendered image of it. the proportions looked very badly off. the articulation with existing also awkward. the overhang (over curved brackets) look too pronounced. most of all, it appears as though they are attempting to mimic the historical north facade. unless they are going to do cast in place - complete with wood grain imprints and exact duplicate of scale and proportion - it will look bad. more i remember not liking, but dint have picture handy.
