How can we get more people in the PMAC in spite of our record?

And don't say "win more games", because real fans will watch regardless. Where are the TRUE fans? There's got to be at least 10-15,000 people interested in basketball in the BR area!
There's not much loyalty to the bball program and it drives me nuts!
I'm talking about generating interest right now, and getting butts in the seats.
We have a team that busts their asses out on the court, but they are not rewarded by our support. Some games have been ugly to be sure, but I don't think fans realize how their presence and noise energizes a team. Some of those games might not have been so ugly if there'd been loads of noisy fans pulling the team to a win. That's what fans are for! Anyone who attended last year's home game against #10 Marquette can attest to the power of LOUD support.
I see it as enthusiastic support creates fun games and some good results, due to inspiring extra team effort. And a silent, empty PMAC can cause lack-luster mediocre play.
Here's a quote from Anthony Hickey:
"I would love to see the PMAC sold out before I leave here. That’s my goal — to try and get as many people in there as possible".
Let's help him do that soon.

Put a baseball diamond in it.

advertising throughout the city/area. I would have no idea when games were if I didn't look them up or get an e-mail because I'm a student.

I think we ought to invite ALL the high school teams within driving distance of B.R. to attend home games free in a planned organized effort. Let their coaches come free, their wives and children, and football players too, especially recuits. I saw this from Jackie Sherrill, he would invite all the teammates of recruits and their dads to games free, just show up. My son was recruited as a center 10/12 years ago and Sherrill wanted me to fill my car up with my son's teammates and come on down at 5:00 before a home game at 7:00. We went, they recruited, the stands were FULL, we all sat together in one section and it brainwashed everyone[except us] inot being state fans. He didn't know I was born and raised in Louisana and LSU. Fill up the BB seats with high school teams and their staff and parents. You could charge a small ticket fee of $3, if you had to under NCAA rules, alumni will pay it all into a fund, it'll be easy.

Eliminate the football program.

LSU does a piss poor job advertising, IMO. I guess they seem to figure they don't need because they are so relevant in Baton Rouge. Chances are, unless you check LSUsports.net, you will not know when the games are if you are just a casual fan.

agree with what Harry Caray said. LSU needs to advertise better throughout the city. i'm a student and a big fan so i always look up when the games are, but when i ask my friends at school if they are going to the game this week they reply, "what game."
LSU needs to make a bigger deal about the basketball program

Love this approach!
No type of NCAA violation in any way, shape or form, correct?

Good OOC opponents and national TV exposure.

That's still dependent on a record and you STILL won't have a sell out crowd without advertising. The mizzou and Florida games this year was disappointing. Yeah, we had a larger crowed than normal but I don't think we've topped 8k in actual attendance yet.

Hire the Hornets marketing people. The "I'm In" campaign was brilliant.

I think the men need a Pack the PMAC with cheap tickets, like the women's team does once a year.
With the dismal attendance we've had over the years, I don't know why they haven't tried this before for the men
