It was definitely not just a routine play like many have said. Especially with Mangum running with ++speed. But a play Broussard would make probably 7 out of 10.

But I'm really not even certain he could've gotten Mangum if he fielded it cleanly. Disagree with the error ruling

I think he definitely would have gotten him if he fields it cleanly

He may have, but it was not a given

I think so too. I bet it would have resulted in a review. We squandered too many scoring chances after the 8th so I really can't fault Broussard. Mathis did us no favors in the 16th and 17th.

Would have been bang bang if he fielded it cleanly. Mathis with the two passed balls on back to back k’s is what did in the Tigers

It’s a play that someone who hits poorly and plays because of his defense has to make.

So a bobble in the 16th caused us to lose a 17 inning game?

Edit: didn’t realize we were leading at the time.

As deep as he was playing, he wasn’t getting anyone out on that hit. Best chance would have been runner going to 2nd but runner was past him by the time he got to the ball.

Runner cutting in front distracted him. Not routine, but certainly makeable.

He wanted him to charge the ball harder than he did. Broussard waited due to the runner, but he should have charged hard and made contact with the runner, the runner has to give you a chance to field the ball

You made it all game?

I bailed after Duplantis smoked a ball to the warning track. Thought it may have been gone, and was so sad when it wasn't. I think that was the 11th inning.

There was several things that LSU did that cost them the game. How many times were they in position to just scratch one run across to win it but couldn't do it? How many poor coaching decisions? Pulling Garza, who had been the Great Wall of China back there for Brock Mathis, a known sharter who proceeded to shite his way into putting the winning run on base. Twice.

Who, by the way, also had opportunities to with his bat by doing do something that Garza has been doing really well lately. Lacing singles and doubles into the gap.
