re: How about Sage Ryan knocking that ball loose with the big hit?

Sage played a really good 1st half, and a super gutsy 2nd half. I think we need to lay off him and give him props. He’s gotten a lot better, and it’s made our defense a lot better overall.
Sage has gotten hate for showing up on the screen when trying to pick up someone else's blown play. He hasn't lived up to the 5* DB rating but has not been as bad as quite a few here try to paint him to be. And he has progressed in Baker's defense.

Couldn’t believe the announcer lost his mind when they overturned the Targeting call. Never heard an announcer act like that.
I mean these announcers didn't even realize that LSU was already in the playoffs (as of now), not trying to get into the playoffs like they showed they were doing in that nascar bs....I don't think they realized that LSU was undefeated in SEC play, and ranked #8. Kept saying anyone outside of LA doesn't know...lol....like we haven't won 3 natties and played for another in the last 21 years......truly the worst announcers we have ever had call a game. I don't care that they didn't like us, but at least get the facts right.

To top off Roddy Jones’s absolutely atrocious performance, he ridiculed our player who got blindsided away from the play and was going into the medical tent, with “ gotta keep your head on a swivel”, and “ can’t buy a ticket to watch the game” comments.
Sage is showing more assertive responses in plays. I’m happy for him.

Watching that hit made me immediately think of LaRon Landry and Craig Loston.
Laron Landry would've been kicked out of every game he ever played in under the 2024 rules.

I’m not sure who he was but he is an awful announcer and he was wrong so often last night.

That crew shouldn't be allowed to announce anything but SWAC, Sunbelt or MAC games

I love that he is actually playing the position he should same as burns and weeks.
Sage is and should only be a free safety and cover in a pinch, burns is a hard hitting safety pretty much a linebacker and should be playing near Los weeks is a baller and cleans up in the scrum he should be blitzed and dropped back to feint and used constantly at different looks
Our coaches have done all of this and made these guys look like they should

The announcers were horrible
They were horrible in a way that I don’t think I’ve ever heard on an ESPN broadcast. Getting distracted, having side conversations, having weird blowups and extremely opinionated-but-wrong takes, generally sounding stupid and unprofessional. It was bizarre

The announcers last night were fricking garbage. LSU shut them up every time

I was at the game, every ref through their flag, 4 of them flew out at same time. Clearly hit with shoulder and they showed replay in stadium. Pigs still booed like crazy. Heard people bitching about the refs walking back to the car, that they helped us win

You have to forgive Mark and Roddy Jones. They usually call Colorado buffalo’s games so they aren't used to players making great football plays.

At that spli second in time had Ryan tried to make any adjustment laying off the hit he's have been injured himself. It's a no brainer.

I was shocked the officials made the right call and picked it up. Similar to Weeks against OM, the contact to the head was a result of the offensive player’s momentum bringing him down a level before they made contact. Both those hits had forceable contact to the head and neck, but neither were reckless hits.

Roddy has been decent but Marc Jones is awful. He thinks too high of himself.

Wouldn't have despised a targeting confirmation. There was contact to the facemask and movement from the receiver's head. But that may have been from momentum from the hit, and it looked that the more I watched it.
Also, it was otherwise perfect. Lead with shoulder, attacked the receiver's chest. Got an arky fan friend who was beside himself. It was close, but within reason to not call it. Refs probably shouldn't have called the PI in our favor before half if they didn't call Burns for PI earlier, but the arky defender did fail to get his head around, so again within reason.
It was one of the better called games. Good reviews and confirmation by the officials before half in army's favor, too.

He had his hopes set on the Ark upset. His bias was as clear as day.
