Add this to his list of shiny credentials to go along with what he's done at Houston this year:

- Under Briles’s direction, FAU finished last season ranked eighth in major-college football in scoring (40.6 points per game) and ninth in yards per game (494.8).

- In 2015, the first of Briles’s two years as offensive coordinator at Baylor, the Bears led the nation in total offense, with 616.2 yards per game, and scoring, with a 48.1-point average.

- Scout named Briles the Big 12 recruiter of the year twice, and in 2015 he was a finalist for the Frank Broyles Award as the top assistant coach in college football.

There is rape culture and “rape culture”

Telling players they can get laid playing football in college is “rape culture” and I dont Worry about it because 100% of men go to college to get laid.

Letting players actually get away with rape is rape culture and there isn’t much eveidence he was actually involved with that, or it would have come out by now.

You are missing the point here. I'm not saying scheme isn't important because it is extremely important but having the talent to run that scheme is also important. LSU can't run a spread offense when we can't block up front and our WR don't get separation and can't catch a fricking cold. Not to mention our QB's the last decade have been mediocre.

No, you can't win in the B12 / B10 / Pac-12 on talent alone. There are teams that have elite recruiting and elite coaches.

Who in the BIG 12/Big 10/Pac 12 besides Ohio St and maybe Michigan could we not run the offense we have now and lose to ?

Not when our WR's can't catch and our OL can't block

Their odds are no greater than ours. Bama would put 100pts on that shitty arse D. Would you rather 29-0 or 100-24 ?

And FAU has fallen from 8th to 23rd. Kiffin still keeping them in top 25. But Briles is legit. That he's doing it at Houston with a WR playing QB to the tune of 30 passing TDs is incredible.

This thread isn’t about whether Jouston could beat Bama.

It’s about how quickly their offense improved under Briles and whether LSU’s could do the same.

Hell...more generally, it isn't even about Briles. It's pointing out how obvious it is that a high quality OC can step in and take what's available to him and make a turn around RIGHT NOW.

Or...we can keep being told that it takes multiple seasons and recruiting cycles for positive change to take place at LSU. Unless, of course, your name is Matt Canada. Then frick you, you get judged midway through Year One as being a terrible hire with a gimmick scheme.

Well if those are the choices, I take the 100-24.

The only way you ensure you cannot win is if you fail to score.

Actually, there is no evidence he was involved, that's why he wasn't prosecuted.

We’re even worse scoring TDS in the red zone this year. The only difference is our kicker makes most of his kicks.

Also if you think Canada was calling the bowl game you’re a fricking moron.

Oh man an AAC team is playing an AAC schedule? (

Nvm

He can only score points on AAC team (and PAC 12) with AAC talent and C-USA teams with C-USA players at FAU, and Big 12 Teams with Big 12 players At Baylor.

Nooooo way he could score points on SEC team with SEC players.

“ i’d be OK with it we had a top 60 offense”

We had one of those three years ago but we decided to trade it in for 100+ offense.

I don’t care who the HC is, I don’t care who the OC is, and I don’t care what offensive scheme we run. I just want a good offense which can complement a good defense and may be a quarterback who can throw 15-20 TDs.

It's...not...going...to...happen. LSU football coaches live and die by their stubbornness to fire offensive coordinators.

LSU really needs a complete overhaul in offensive philosophy and I think it's time to go in this direction.

Quick trivia
