Meridian, York, Eutaw and Demopolis are all south of Tuscaloosa. Try them

If you get there early enough, I would suggest parking in the lot near the soccer field/Rec center. It's not far from the Quad and the stadium and it's a lot easier to get back to the main roads from there after the game.

There is a large parking lot across from Coleman Coliseum, the baseball field and RV lot. This is a good spot, and if you hang around for about 1 hour after game time, you won't have a problem getting out.

Take it from me, traffic on 59/20 E. back to B'Ham after the game is a nightmare!

Probably in B'ham. If your coming from the west, Meridien is about 1.5 hrs. away - not a bad drive since it is a 2:30 game. I'm sure T-town is booked.

What time should we get to the stadium to get a parking spot near the soccer fields?

We're in Meridian, so if we leave there at 8a.m. will that be early enough? It looks like Bama has more paid parking lots than LSU

I just got one today at a motel 6 for 85 bucks on mcfarland blvd. If you call a few hotels each day from here until next Weds., there will be some cancelations. Also there were a couple at the jameson inn last night, but 200 per night 2 night minimum. Good luck

I'm sure there are some in Birmingham, check Travelocity. My father-in-law booked a room at the LaQuinta in Hoover last week.

Hoover is definitely the place to stay. You just hop on I-459 and head straight down to I-59 and it takes you right to Tuscaloosa. 45 minutes.

Birmingham is better than staying in Tuscaloosa anyway if you want to go out later that night.

Oh yeah, the curves on highway 69...I hit the back end of a cow driving an X19 years ago. Blood and car parts everywhere. Had it not been for all the dirty clothes in the front storage, I'd be dead. Fun times...

I was told 2 weeks ago we have a place to stay. About 30 minutes ago I find out we don't.
Now I'm scrambling to find a place...

How far is the drive from Birmingham?

If you leave at 8 AM, that should put you in Tuscaloosa by 9:30 or 10, which should be fine if you want to park near the soccer fields.

While there are several paid lots, there are also lots where the money goes to a community organization like Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts, etc. so I would check those also. And there are many groups of students who rent houses near the stadium and they offer parking in their yards for about the same rate you would pay anywhere else and the money helps them pay rent/bills (used to be me, haha).

Try Motel 6 in Tuscaloosa, picked up a room there for Friday night(11/6) on Tuesday.......sounded like they had some more rooms available.

Thanks, but I tried. I ended up finding a place in Hoover.

I'll keep calling in case of a cancellation though. I can cancel for free as long as I give them 48 hours notice.
