Sweet

I wonder if Cal Poly is giving the baseball team extra benefits too.

If Cal Poly sweeps... Cal Poly would get the auto-bid to the regionals... UCSB would get an at-large... as would Cal-Irvine

Doubt they sweep. Florida is probably shitting from this win though. Irvine is squarely on the at large bubble as well.

if Cal Poly sweeps UCSB... Cal-Irvine can grab 1/3 of the BWC title by sweeping Cal-Riverside (as I said... Cal Poly would be recognized as THE champion and get the auto-bid in the process)

ETA: Florida doesn't want to see the Anteaters get 1/3 of the Big West

UCSB doesn’t play in a conference tournament. This was the first of three against Cal Poly.

IMO it's complete and utter bullshite that UCSB is even being considered to host considering they haven't even played 1 game vs a top 50 opponent. At least was I heard they have not. UC-Irvine may have snuck back in there.

They did. They are 3-0. Best case is UCSB drops at least one more. And Irvine drops out of the top 50.

It's still nonsense that they're considered as hosting over teams that play a tough conference schedule.

I kind of agree. On the other hand, losing so few games is no easy task, no matter who you are playing.

Or had we won more of the mid week games against inferior competition this wouldn’t be a conversation . Would LSU have a better record against the same schedule ? That’s the question the committee has to ask itself

IMO the midweek games aren't an issue. We've lost midweek games before and still got a national seed over other teams. I don't see why it would matter in this instance.

There is no way we are A top 8 seed even if we win the SEC tourney....

That's not what I was saying, Peej. We've gotten a top 8 seed before even though we lost midweek games. So, I don't think losing midweek games will now keep us from hosting as a 13-16 seed.
