You don't think Kelly would have had Notre Dame in the 12 team playoff?
I think a better question is "Would Notre Dame have made the old 4 team playoffs?
Notre Dame has beaten Indiana and Georgia ( with a back up QB). Now, if they make it to the Championship game and especially win it, then you can claim Freeman is a better coach - as of now.
This 12 team playoff format is taylor made for Notre Dame.

Biggest thing freeman did was hire Mike denbrock away from lsu. I think denbrock at this point has solidified himself as a top 5 OC in the country based off his last 2 yrs and his current year at Notre Dame. Plus Notre dames defense is prolly the best defense besides Ohio st in the Cfp. Cbk should feel no ways neither should we. Marcus freeman has done a incredible job at Notre Dame and has them in position to win a national championship.

I'll tell you this, Brian Kelly is pure dark side of the force and when he's going good it's because he's running on high octane spite. The stuff people are saying about him and Freeman this week is fricking rocket fuel. The best thing that can happen to LSU would be for ND to win it all and for BK to have his quotes about coming to play for titles thrown in his face all spring and summer.

That team is no where near their teams for last 4 years! That is flat out dumb statement! There will not be a sec school in NC game this year! Nor should there be. Ohio state will win it all.

That wasn't the case after week 2 this year. They had Freeman on the hot seat. However, when your strength of schedule is #57 vs. #7, then you have some ability to string together wins and help your fanbase forget the face plant against NIU.

Then theyre as dumb as you are. LSU nuked ND back to the stone age, when they had Samardjiza and Quinn in that Sugar Bowl. They wallowed in mediocrity and fired coaches like it was a sport itself.
It was only when they hired Kelly, who then rebuilt them to what you see today.
Also, the ND of today isn't the same one Kelly left. His leaving is what finally got their admin to relax admissions for football players, then you add in the transfer portal and NIL, and what you get is a completely different program than the one Kelly left.
Despite all that, he is still a far better coach coach and program builder than anyone ND has had in over a century, as evidenced by the fact that he is their all-time winningest coach, and he is still in a much better position to win a national championship here at LSU.
Kelly will win a natty at LSU, Freeman wont win 1 anywhere. Maybe then our fanbase will stop cannibalizing its own team and coach, but I doubt it.
