Call me the eternal optimist. The team is sky high for this one and respond to the challenge. Kentucky worries about our big men so much that Hickey, Stringer and Coleman bomb the threes. LSU 88 Kentucky 82

By the way a win over uk albeit EXTREMELY unlikely still wouldn't be enough for this team to sniff the NCAA tourney.

Hoping for the best obviously but this team is a hot mess away from the brady dome.

This one gets ugly quick, fast, & in a hurry.....
64-81 type beating, doubt the Tigers can hang 65 in Rupp Arena.....

Defense just kills this team on the road .. Feet dragging, no blocking out, no hands in passing lanes .. Just passive defensive efforts on the road .. Hell .. at home we gave up 80 and 81 points to bad SEC teams ... CJJ needs to fix the D .. badly !

IF we were to pull this off, we'd have to win the rest (except for UF), finish the regular season at 20-10 (11-7) and win at least one, probably two in the SECT.

UK 83
LSU 57

We'll play better at UF than we will in this one. The mindset today will be too lazy since we beat them once. We lay a complete egg today.

That one bothered me .. Good teams are building momentum in February to peak in March .. We've given up 85 points a game in our last 5 on the road in SEC .. Defense tells you how focused a team is ...

that and they just suck at playing D. Mickey is really bad especially when we go zone.

And I don't get that .. The guy can block shots and rebound well, but sucks in zone !! Almost defies logic, but true .

Line is 11.5. Seems like easy money on kentucky. With the way we play defense, I can't see anyway for us to keep it under 15

Kentucky is going to score 90 and we won't be able to make shots due to the atmosphere.

My prediction is
Kentucky 91
LSU 74

We can win if the ceiling at Rupp falls on three Kentucky starters and half their bench .

Me too Rag. One would at least hope that we would see at least some improvement in team and individual defense, but if anything it seems to be getting worse.

50 points and 60 percent shooting by Mississippi State in the second half. Very telling.

Here's your optimistic post of the day. Hickey always plays well against UK. No reason to think he won't do the same today and as such, will be the leader this team desperately needs. The "Kentucky" on the jersey and the packed house at Rupp fires up an LSU team who at times seems to lack any emotion. This translates into slightly better defense just on pure effort alone. Likewise, CJJ shows 50% more enthusiasm then the usual 5% he exhibits on the bench. The team follows his lead. UK is in for a fight and by the end of the game the announcers are talking about how good this LSU team can be if/when they put things together.

Hey...it could happen

Is that 3rd pic a Phoenix rising from the ashes?
Definitely a metaphor for what we need to do in our next games.
Today we'll still be in the ashes, doubt that the Phoenix will be rising yet.
But who knows, ashes might be a bit hot this afternoon, propelling the Phoenix up and out of Rupp Arena, carrying the Tigers with him and burning UK!

Can't believe I'm speaking metaphorically and have resorted to a myth to explain a win today.
Can't believe I did this on TD either.
