I agree completely. Mett would have unquestionably done better, but we have no link. Many are like Miles, they are philosophically-attached to a poor philosophy. CLM to his hard-headedness to play experienced guys even if they are horrid, and ranters who are attached to the concept that the coach always know best because of practice (which is very different than the games)...of course, their is the need to run to the short side of the field on the option...

You have successfully used every rantard talking point in this thread. You seriously think lsu football is as bad as you make it sound?

I actually can't even believe that someone is still using the miles doesn't play young players card. That myth has been obliterated. Your post and opinions are a joke.

Don't give me the crap he wasn't ready. he had some time of college and juco. Our defense and running game was so good he could have dominated last year,

Well, he's definitely a different guy this year than at the beginning of last year. A year in the system is valuable.

The question at the beginning of last year was based on whether we could win the early tough games. I don't think it is a given that Mettenberger would have played well enough against Oregon last year to win.

I don't care bout practice, but I do care bout results and as long as Miles/staff keeps giving me elite type results I'll keep assuming that he probably knows what he's doing as a HC in the SEC a hell of a lot more than anyone posting here.

They aren't a joke. Miles loyalty > miles wanting to win

Here's an idea: let's put a series together where we clone every player on our roster to form two identical teams. One team will be coached by Les Miles & staff, the other will be coached by consensus decision of the Rant (as determined by post count, of course). I wonder which team is going to win every game by about 4 tds . . .

hint: LSU would have a better chance of stealing a win against the Packers than the Rant-coached team would have of beating Miles' team.

It would be entertaining, though, watching the "50 yard bomb from Mett to OBJ every play" offense put up about .1 points per game and the "10 man blitz on every down" defense give up about 90 points per game.

Are you serious?

Lee didn't set the world on fire with his 98 yards passing against Oregon.

Right. If he had been playing, we would have made it through the regular season undefeated....

but he's throwing the ball and he has his receivers in a stream of confidence right now. I think those guys are definitely going to do something special this year.

So Badge said this? Then why was he so adament last year that "his quarterback" was back on the team? Why couldn't a defensive player on the LSU team realize that LSU couldn't pass a lick with "his quarterback" back in the game. Spreading the defense horizontally to run the ball with "his quarterback" was not as efficient for last year's LSU offense as letting the other quarterback throw the ball vertically once 9 defenders crashed the box.

You think if we could go back to September of last year that Mathieu would have a change of heart on whether the threat of a forward pass would be good for the LSU offense?
