No, your soft for thinking only people with the same experience can have opinions on someone else.

Your soft for thinking Brown didn't come to LSU for the expectations.

Brown doesnt need and I'd be willing to bet, doesnt want you to defend him.

You're not knight in shining armor here. You're not providing any social justice defending those incapable of defending themself.

Brown chose to come and play for LSU and ALL that comes with it. The good and the bad. Those what don't want it either go somewhere else or leave. It's why people like Brian Kelly chose to come to the SEC and why people like Urban Meyer chose to leave.

wtf.

It seems the smooth brained use this argument for everything.

No excuses were made. No one said he should be awarded anything or the okay ignored. But the bullshite from folks that comprise the population of a state dead fricking last in most metrics of success is a bit odd.

I was pissed, but he’s a kid and will be better for it. Bet he works his arse off all summer and fall.

FYI, I played through my Junior year of college (pitched).

Why is it odd, because you can't understand it?

It's simple.

Some people want high expectations. They want all that comes with it. the accountability, the accolades and the expectations. it drives them to be better. They're able to brush off the losses and mistakes and find a way to get better.

Others crumble under those expectations. They want the glory and praise for winning but not the pressure of losing or making mistakes. Or maybe they think they want the pressure and expectations but deep down can't handle it.

Brown doesn't need any social justice warriors out here defending him. he knows he made a mistake and he'll bust his arse to make sure it never happens again.

I think people overreacting g to a guy catching heat for failing to make a routine play is also a sign of how soft and sensitive people are. It’s high level sports. When you frick up people will give you shite. It’s not the end of the world. It’s a college kid living it up getting to be an LSU Tiger. Trust me he will be balls deep in poontang to help him forget. Stop all the crying over a little razzing. Crybabies up in here calling other people crybabies. Who gives a shite. Life goes on. It’s just baseball. Can’t win the fricking title every damn year

I'm not criticizing him because things like that occur in baseball, but this question as an attack on the critics is invalid.

I don't know how many levels but I know I wasn't o the caliber of LSU players during my time. I shared the field with a few that went on to play college baseball in the SEC on CWS teams (Florida, Miss State, LSU) and I was able to find a place on the field at times but was nowhere near SEC level.

It's nothing I take as a knock at all..it's reality. I achieved more than most in baseball but not nearly as much as others.

That's putting it very generously.

ETA: You're like a high school track runner who tells people he ran a 4 minute mile but what he really ran was a 4:58 mile.

Okay, unwad your panties and reword it then, I don't care. It doesnt change the facts but if you want to reword in an attempt to somehow belittle me, it doesn't bother me one bit.

I played high school baseball at the varsity level
I played with and against SEC caliber players
I was not as good as them
I was better than most

Phrase it however you want. I don't care.

I don't remember my batting avg or my fielding % if that's what you're asking. I don't think I can be any more clear and definitely not trying to paint a picture of something that was reality.

Please do everyone a favor and leave these fan pages as well, because you are anything but a fan. More like someone who has so little going for him that he has to live vicariously through 20 year olds.

This is a fan discussion site. There is going to be criticism. Some of it can be excessive. Same for the adulation which can, at time, border on creepy an obsessive. But when you participate in a very public activity you have to expect, accept, and deal with both. I'm sure any player would tell you that,. The "white knighting" however like these guys are 6 year old children is weird. Kind of like that "leave Brittney alone" weirdo.

The guy made a great play (HR) to give LSU a chance to win. He was roundly celebrated. He then horribly misplayed what should have been a catch by a college player that played a big role in losing the game late. So he is getting criticized for it. Such is the life for a college baseball player who plays for a program with significant fan support

Personal attacks are stupid and childish, but that’s not the same as saying that Brown should have made the play and being disappointed that he didn’t. You can’t win championships when your team makes mistakes like that, and this wasn’t the first for him today or this week. He’s had more than his share for a starter, even as a freshman. He needs to be accountable, work hard, and not do this shite anymore next season.

All that said, he is also responsible for one of our only three runs, so it’s not like he personally lost the game. He contributed on offense in a game where many didn’t. That does balance it out some. He was definitely not the only reason we lost.

It pretty much was.

The drop was a freak incident. However we lost the game because we only scored 3 runs.

Who doesn't...high school was awesome. Some of the most fun years were those years right after college graduation but high school was a blast.

Not sure how you think that's an insult.

I played all the way through freshman year moved to Mississippi where the school won state ( maybe back to back). I played first there was no chance. Still play softball pitch and infield. Can’t imagine what was going through his mind at that moment.

none of this validates or invalidates someone's opinion.
