I see it this way:

SEC West

1. LSU
2. Arkansas
3. Alabama
4. Mississippi State
5. Auburn
6. Ole Miss

SEC East

1. USC
2. UF
3. UGA
4. UT
5. UK
6. VU

LSU wins the west due to having less issues than Arkansas and Alabama.

Alabama had inferior lines to LSU this year...OL gave up twice as many sacks, DL was at the bottom of the SEC in sacks and tackles for loss, and will lose their best pass rusher. I don't see them gaining the edge over LSU in either category next year. Also will be starting a new QB.

Arkansas will be breaking in a new QB and will still have issues in the secondary. This year LSU did not have a QB that could take advantage of that. Next year we will.

LSU will be either starting a senior at QB or a junior college QB that took his team to the juco national championship. Simply put, the Tigers will start a QB with significantly more playing time than any of our rivals.

Our lines will be solid. OL will be even bigger and more athletic next year, and may be the best in the conference. DL will be very good, and will be as good or better than everyone's. I expect our DL to lead the conference in sacks and tackles for loss.

LB will be the weakest link on the LSU defense, but it's not like our main rivals feature great LBing play either.

Secondary is where LSU is head and shoulders above everyone else. We played a lot of youngsters last year, and will reap the benefits of it next year.

The 2011 LSU Tigers will be one of the best teams in the country next year, and should win the SEC. A BCS title is not much of a longshot.

QB is a wash across the board.... LSU returns Jefferson and while I think he improves he still isn't a very good QB. Unless LSU gets a new OC I doubt the offense improves at all, losing Jasper and Helton will become huge and Peterson for PR.

13-1 SEC champs + MNC

loss coming to mullen and Moo State on a Thursday. The FLA Bama and Oregon wins will keep us in the top 2 for entry to the superdome

Well considering this past year we had a QB making his second year starting with 3 years of experience in the system and a back up with 1 year of starting experience and 4 years of experience in the system. I believe they had more experience than
McElroy
Cam
Mallet
Masoli
Brantley
Relf
Murray
etc...

So it hasn't exactly helped

After seeing Garrett Gilbert and John Brantley this last year, I've stopped putting as much stock in backup QB performances when the other team did not gameplan for them.

Auburn also has one of the worst pass defenses in the country. The last time I looked they were around 112th. One half of good football against a unit that terrible is hardly anything to freak out over. The guy also threw some terrible ints.

Actually 106 at 250 yards allowed per game and in 1 half Wilson threw 330+ with 4 touchdowns against a Top 10 team on the road

idiocy on parade...wheeeeeeee

Wish I could convince myself that perpetual Chicken and Cotton bowls and 3rd place division finishes makes LSU a top SEC team.

Florida -> Could be very scary very quick, I think they win the SEC first year under Muschamp, because of Weis and the talent that's already there.
What an odd reason. Explain?

True but in my prediction, I don't think we make it back next year. (I think Crowton stays bc Miles is enjoying the progress the offense is making.)

Weis as OC >>>>>>> Weis as HC

As bad as those ND teams were it wasn't because of the offense

Greg McElroy had similar stats in one half against Auburn, and he's not nearly good enough to carry a team the way Arkansas has relied on their QB to do so. All I'm saying is lets hold off on anointing the kid

McElroy was also in his second year starting (senior), not a sophomore. Wilson saw action against Missouri in 2009 as well and produced a line of 13/19 138 68.4% 2TD 1INT.

The kid has talent and would not be a significant drop off from Mallet especially with Davis returning next season. He is a 1200 yard rusher this year (1183 with 1 to play)

They may be better. 1-2 losses, easy.

Tenn -> Will be better

Still awful.

Ark -> Will be better

No, they won't.

Auburn -> Won't be as good

Understatement.

quote:

Miss State -> This we own them talk needs to end, they are on the rise. Beat UF this year, played Auburn closer than us, and our victory over them was early and turnovers played a huge roll. Will be better.

Will continue to own them.

A complete reversal in offensive philosphy and you think they could win the SEC in year one

quote:

USC -> No clue. Latimore is coming back. They could be good.

So? We don't even play them..

quote:

Kentucky -> Who cares, but they seem to beat us even when we are making a run at the NC.

They beat us once in the last 10 years.

quote:

Georgia -> Ofcourse they are going to be better...

We don't play them either. Not worried about the dawgs.

quote:

Oregon

One of our 4 tests during the season. If we win this game we'll have faced a team as good as any team in the SEC next year.
