As Nuss' mechanics are flawless. Nuss gets the ball out of his hands extremely fast. He makes great decisions and he is very accurate. In fact, Nuss didn't look like a true freshman at all, but like a future first rounder with elite arm talent.

Juxtapose that with the Arkansas game were he was essentially the de facto starter and very much looked like a true freshman with several poor decisions and throws. Even his only TD pass in that game wasn't a great decision. It was just a really good individual effort by Bech to make the catch.

That's not to say Nussmeier may not be the best QB on the team. Personally, I think he has the best combination of skills of all of the QBs (Brennan is a statue and Daniels can be inaccurate). But to anoint him as a future first rounder based upon a few minutes of garbage time during a blowout is a bit foolish.

7-5 is realistic, 8-4 is optimistic, 9-3 is exceptional by winning a real close one or two by 1-2 key plays

This seems the most reasonable assessment considering the ‘Newness’ of the Coaching Staff & almost all skill position players. Talent is there but other than Boutte & Jenkins, Maybe Bech, has anyone else on offense really Showed Out?

Defense should be good enough to keep them in most games, against most opponent’s. I really think that the biggest issue on Defense will be depth. LSU’s starters are as good as any other SEC teams but the drop off, esp in the secondary, is likely to be considerable.

I expect 8-4. Will likely Win & Lose 1 each that we shouldn’t have.

It’ll all hinge on OL play.

Our OL was below average these last 4 years. Joe Burrow’s elite ability offset the poor play.

If our OL is above average, 9-3.

If it is better than that.. 10 or more wins.
