Come on, I think you have some idea

So you would rather let Jump inherit runners if/when Ack falls apart
runneR....never said runners. I said one guy reaching base via walk or a hit and he would be pulled. Thus, Ack would not "fall apart". One base runner is not falling apart but does break the dominance streak for sure.

No way you are serious with this comparison. Bait way too stong

The 20/20 hindsight around here is incredible.
Exactly!
Had Ack walked the first batter and that guy come around to score, these same people would be posting "How do you run Ack out there when you have Jump ready to go in the bullpen? Ack couldn't even get out of the first inning 24 hours prior."

And this year he screwed the pooch...do you have a point? Sssssooo, Johnson is incapable of making a stupid move in a baseball game. I understand...the perfect coach.
No coach or profession for that matter is perfect. So let’s fire everybody.

What he brought up IS relevant because it shows how fricking retarded you are and that you know absolutely nothing about baseball you clown

This shite is why I cannot stay on the Rant very long.

Probably a mistake and the dropped ball was a killer too. Great game. Too bad we could not pull it out and host a super regional this weekend.
Great run to end the season.

he pitcher who is proving himself in the game deserves the benefit until he proves otherwise
I don't think Ack was proving anything. He had three very stressful ABs that, fortunately, he was able to get around. that 8th inning could have gone much differently. Myself, many others, and our coach, felt much more comfortable with the ball in Jump's hands for 3 outs. What Ack did in the 8th inning is irrelevant. Hellmers did great too. But that doesn't mean I wanted him pitching until the wheels fell off either.

he is the most streaky pitcher IMO on the staff..
which is why you play the better odd in that situation, which isn't to keep pitching Ack

I'm playing the odds also.

As usual, your takes are borderline retarded.

Sad part is, this douche believes he’s actually right despite everyone telling him the contrary.
Posted on 6/4/24 at 4:06 pm to TheRouxGuru
Noooo, it is NOT remotely relevant. Not knowing an obscure rule about age superceding years in college is not the same as a STUPID baseball decision by a manager who should know better. But hey, keep calling names like retarded. You are proving yourself unable to hold a discussion. Once again, he tried to hijack the thread.

If Ack had given up a double like Jump to start the 9th inning with Jump ready to go in the bullpen, this board would have lost it's fricking mind

Know better than to bring in a better pitcher? You don’t know how dumb this sounds.

When you win a championship in the second year you get some latitude. Neither the football coach nor the basketball coach has come close to doing that.
At the least, you’ve earned the freedom to ignore silly fans amateur expectations.

I appreciated it. This thread was trash.

This is my last post on this thread because obviously the detractors have run out of logical arguments. Psst, calling someone retarded is not exactly making you look like Einsteins. And when several use the same word, you posters are even more clueless.
So just believe that Johnson NEVER makes a mistake and just like the topic title insinuates, please don't hold Johnson to the same standard as football and basketball coaches. They have to make "adjustments" in their thinking during games. Apparently, Johnson doesn't have to view the flow of the game...just go with your pre-game plan whether it still makes sense or not.

Jump coming in to close was discussed the day prior, during the day leading up to the game, during the game, and when he started warming up. I'm sorry it came as a shock to you, but it was the correct call. Coming in with a clean inning against the 7-8-9 hitters is also a much better situation than letting him inherit any runner and risk facing the top of their lineup with runners on base.
Quite literally, our season came down to 3 outs. As a coach, you let your most reliable arm get those outs and live with it if he can't.
